1000hp ZL1 for 119k, sounds like a steal to me. Sure you can shop around if you don't mind losing peace of mind and working with a quality shop. But people with money like peace of mind and will pay more for a reputable shop.

Except Hennessy is not reputable, in my and many others' opinion.

If you can build a 1,000 whp car for 10 grand sign me up!! Highly doubt that car only has 10 grand in parts. Probably closer to 25,000 just in parts or more.

No man. It’s a Whipple blower swap, Heads/Cam and full bolt ons. That’s definitely not $25,000 in parts. That’s probably $10k-$14k which is why I said if you do it yourself (= no labor or tuning). And it’s 1000 Crank HP according to them. The Whipple hasn’t approached 1000 RWHP on the LT4 as far as I’ve seen. Most I’ve seen is 930ish on a full Heads/Cam/FBO/E85/Meth/Porting etc which is much more work than the Exorcist package consists of. It’s for bragging rights. I’d bet it’s at max a $20k-$25k build at any other big shop like Vengeance, RPM, etc.

A big shop (won’t name names for confiditality reasons) quoted me $20,100 for a more in depth ProCharged LS3 setup than this. That’s out the door, parts, labor, and tuning. There’s no way a blower swap package should cost $25k in parts alone. I mean just go read the part list, it’s basic stuff.

Figuring here...
$6,000 for the blower kit
$1000-$2000 for quality headers
$1500 for a complete cam kit, push rods, springs etc
$500-1000 for head work
Throw in another $2000 for miscellaneous stuff (which is probably way over kill, the above is basically the complete Exorcist kit).
$12k. Now you can make it cheaper by using less “brand name” parts or more expensive if you use the most brand name stuff.

We had our on EBay for far less than that a few months ago. Brand new car that was in the Procharger booth at SEMA. 1087rwhp

I have met him and worked with him on a iPhone App for his business that was going to write for him. This was before the Venom GT came out back in 2010 at his shop in Sealy.
