I’m interested to see how this car does in the 1/4 mile. I’m holding off on ordering a 2SS until I see the results. If they are good I may look at a 1LE. Especially interested if GM decided to offer the drag mode on the SS A10 1LE. 2.85 elsd > 2.77 std diff. (Granted with a weight penalty...)

Glad they're finally offering it. But I'm sticking with my 6spd. If I ever get another new car it'll be a C8 'vette.

Chevrolet will not spend the money to develop a DCT for the Camaro at this late stage in its life - and no, the one for the C8 will not work. Plus, now that transmission makers have figured out how to properly tune a conventional automatic to work better than a DCT, automakers like BMW are starting to phase out DCTs in favor of high-performance conventional automatics. The A10 is the future, not the past.

Don't expect to see one in your run of the mill SS though. Like the Mustang, a DCT would likely only appear in the top performance model of the next Camaro(if we get one) |

I just traded my 15 1LE for a 20 1LE. Not sure I should’ve waited for an A10 to try. I love the M6 but... my brothers ZL1 with the A10 is just amazing.

“A supercharged V-8 with 650 horsepower and torque means the Camaro really doesn't need 10 gears, but the shifts are so quick and the programming is so spot on that it picks the perfect gear while you're concentrating on braking. There's no need to go to the paddles.” I’ve owned two cars with DCTs (non-Porsches) and hated them both. They stumbled at launch, even around town; hunted a lot for a gear when slowing down; and just generally felt not quite fully developed. Porsche aside (maybe), I think you’ll see manufacturers continue to drop DCTs in favor of lower-priced, electronically controlled automatics with carefully matched and controlled differentials. And then there’s the bottom line: GM isn’t going to dump a bunch of money into developing, testing and gaining federal approval for a new drivetrain for the Camaro, which sadly is nearing its second death in the automotive marketplace. |

Manual is really proper in a car like the 1le. I know the autos are much better but it's just stale. The manuals will hold their value better and will be more saught after. It's good the auto is an option anything to keep selling the cars. But I couldn't imagine buying a automatic trans.

I think the only way we see a DCT in a 6th Gen (or even 7th Gen for that matter) would be for the Z/28. And I can say with certainty the only thing that would keep me from getting a C8 (hopefully Z06) in a few years would be this! A Z/28 with the same or similar power-train to the C8 Z06 (ie. 500-600HP DOHC Flat Plane crank w/ DCT) would keep me in the Camaro over the Vette!!
