I grew up driving rear wheel drive cars in Michigan winters including a 68 Chevy van which was the worst. These cars are 100 times better than anything I drove back then in the snow. Only problem is TC will not let you go anywhere sometimes when pulling in traffic.

Usually stays in the garage, but if the forecast ends up being wrong, I don't change mode on the car at all.....I change my mode and just drive a bit slower, more gap to car in front of me and easy with the right foot. If it's going to be colder than 40-45 degrees I drive the 4-runner regardless of any other weather conditions. Not a fan of driving in cold on summer only tires.

In heavy rain I'll use snow/ice mode just for that extra layer of precaution. Light rain I'll use tour mode. Like everyone else already mentioned it really is just common sense. Light foot on the accelerator and keeping your distance between other cars.

The only time I've ever broken traction in the rain was when I was purposely trying to have some fun. These cars really do handle well when given the proper respect.

I just keep it in sport mode when it rains. like someone else said, with some common sense you'll know to go easy on the throttle, and don't like how slow to respond ice mode is.

Rain traction isn't so bad with our run flats. Just drive it nice and easy. I use touring mode. I'm just not using it in rain if the temps are around freezing. Thats my experience with 5,700 miles on my tires. I'm sure as you get up there in miles on these tires it will get worse. If you have little or no tread the car will be hairy.

doesnt matter. for me mostly track but our traction control systems are really really good, even in the rain its hard to get the car sideways with it on.

Agree to disagree... Using a mode control can help force you to go easier on the gas in situations when your focus is outside of the car on the road and not necessarily remembering to change your habit pattern to go easier on the gas. In my opinion, it's smart to leverage the capabilities provided with this great car to make you an even better driver under harsh conditions. I've tried the snow / ice mode in my car when it's just raining. It really does help and increases my confidence in the car' s stability when I'm driving under those conditions

This was probably answered somewhere else. But do you guys know i the amount of traction control changes between modes? To me, i don't think it does. Because when you go into the settings, it gives you the options to change suspension, steering, and exhaust between the modes. I figured these are what change between the modes if you leave them on the auto. Exhaust always stays on track for me and i almost never use tour mode lol. i appreciate the suspension in tour, but i like the steering tight. In my perfect world, i like the steering in track, suspensions in tour or sport and exhaust open. wish it was even louder lol.

Rains every other day here...I keep it on Tour mode 95% of the time.... if it snows I definitely switch to Snow/Ice mode.

Drove in heavy rain once. Touring mode and I also have A/S tires. No problems with the handling.
