As mentioned above, this is a separate feature from "Performance Shift Active" which will appear in the DIC upon rapid acceleration (had not heard about the 40 mph threshold before--will need to check that out!).

sport competitive - both lights on solid. floor the car @ 50 in 2nd and it immediately snaps, changes lanes, and tries to kill me. both lights stay solid and stabilitrak does not flash

there is a very noticeable difference in how the car behaves. this is basically any temp under 75*. i don't floor it if it's under 55*
Likely because your TCS / Fast torque exit settings have been modified in the tune. Pretty sure on stock tune stabilitrak still intervenes in competitive mode.

Hi!

I buff this thread for a simple question. I am still quit new to the car, and havent used competive mode yet, but when turned on (doubel tapping the TC button) is it supposed to say "Stabilitrak Competetive Mode" or just "Competetive Mode"?

The reason I am asking is because the "Service Stabilitrak" came up in the display for a second a couple of days ago, but there is no error codes stored, and the system seems to work just fine (tested the ABS with no problems, and let the rear slide out on some gravel, and the anti-slide symbol came on as expected)

Edit
Just found a video showing the dashboard when activitaing the Competetive mode, so now I know.
Everything is fine!

I agree with the OP. The car manual sucks. Is there a detailed flow chart or something that explains all the settings and what they are best used for in real-world situations?

It probably sucks because the system is kind of complicated, see this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=496996.

While the thread discusses the SS 1LE, the columns of the grand table at the bottom of the OP also apply to the ZL1, and most of it applies to the non-1LE SS, too, with the exception of the PTM and eDiff columns.

I dont get too often since I live in an urban area but when I get to an open empty area I quickly learned that competitive mode is my favorite driving mode. lol

i only have a ss so when i track the car i put it in comp mode and it works awesome it limits the esc and traction control but doesnt turn it off completely

last track event i somehow turned it off mid session and the car was losing power in the corners and feeling really sluggish not sure how i did that but it was not fun lol

I only Click TCS once for Drag Racing and don't use Competitive Mode. NLS every gear.

100% OEM '19 SS 6MT. Didn't even air down the Goofyear RF's

I've switched back and forth with track mode and everything off. With everything off the car feels more predictable during loss of traction. I'm not a fan of the TC kicking on after you're already a bit sideways, car is more predictable if you're in complete control at that point. Lap time wise they seem near identical. It's nice to be able to abuse the traction control sometimes too. You still need to be linear on your throttle input but you can get to 100% faster and let the TC figure it out.

Just tried performance shift mode for the first time in the new SS. I didn't like it because upon blipping the accelerator at about 55 mph, the rpm's shot way up to about 5k for a couple of seconds.

Something isn't right if that's what happens. On my 2018, blipping the throttle displays the message and the trans immediately downshifts to a gear where rpms are between 4-4.5k, there is no hang or overrev into the 6k+ zone.

I found it to be a little brutal. Didn't like that at all.
