Stay on topic or I'm closing the thread. I'm noticing new members here only arguing here and another related thread. Shape up or ship out.

No.

RA, back straight at VIR, maybe COTA? Fastest places I can think of... not fast enough for a ZLE to hit 180.

I can't believe you got regular G3s to last that long. I've gone through 2 sets of rears and 4 sets of fronts in 13k. Tells you how tough track days are on tires.

Posted this in the other thread...

Or you could ban the repeat offenders who continue to drag these discussions down with their infantile games. Closing this or any thread due to the behaviour of a few individuals who are as you mentioned "new members" is unfair to the general C6 community.

Ah, I see... Good catch.

Yeah, after looking closer, the front DO seem to be Sport Cup 2's. The amount of sipes at the outer tread block looked more like the 4S, but if you look across the entire tread contact patch it exemplifies a Cup 2. A 4S would have the 3 inner circumferential bands/blocks with one that sits very close to the outer shoulder block; whereas the Cup just has the 2 and a larger outer block (this is what the ZL1 1LE shows in the TH video).

Anyway, there is a very different characteristic in tire performance and likely* a grip discrepancy: GYS3R is very high grip, doesn't diminish with heat, but takes laps to heat up; MSC2* is high grip, will diminish with heat, but takes less laps to heat up.

*Most MPSC2 variants. The Ford Performance variants, I hear, tend to be a bit higher grip than most of the other MPSC2 variants.

Not a road course.

Was there every ANY objective information made available for the 500 tires in the test?

Nope. Just stated that they were "well cooked" by Randy, and he added that if they were new, the 500 would have beat the ZLE for sure.

Nothing objective whatsoever though.

The Texas Mile is a track and it is straight. Or are you not sure what a track is?

Track = Road course
Strip = 1/8 or 1/4 mile
There are no 1/2, 1, or 2 mile straight tracks, those are runways.

One of the half mile racing companies (i think it was Wannagofast) was set to build an actual 1/2 mile drag strip, but that fell through and they cancelled it.
