How do I know if my dealer had allocations? Trust that they are telling me the truth?

Sorry to make light of your situation. I sat at 1100 status on a 2016 order for three months before I finally had to cancel and order a 2017 because my dealer was stringing me along.

you basically take what they're telling you at face value but like someone told me. You walk out with an order # or walk away they can give you the prelim order # that way you know it's in their system to be ordered regardless.

Unfortunately, that's about all you can do is take them for their word. Of course, there are certain signs that help you tell whether they are lying to you. If they tell you they have allocations and you sit at 1100 status for more than a couple weeks (and there are no constraints on your build) then that would be highly suspect in my eyes.

After much pressure, I was finally able to get my dealer to show me the printout that detailed their actual allocations. Dealers know if they have allocations or not. It's not a secret. Is it possible that some dealers don't know where to look for that info? I guess...maybe, but I find it hard to believe.

As I've seen it said on here before, I believe that many dealers will string the customer along knowing they don't have any allocations in hopes that they can get an allocation before the customer moves down the road to the next dealer. I feel like that's what happened to me.
