Well I was incorrectly assuming GM didn't do the tune. I see now that they do. If they do it then I assume it won't void the warranty after all. Will be interesting to see what this really accomplishes.

Questions that I have yet to see answered:

So, I see this says it does not void your warranty in any way....does anybody know if that means the regular, factory warranty stays as is, or do you get swapped over to a GM Performance type of warranty like the shenanigans Ford pulls?

...and to keep your warranty do you have to have the dealer just load the tune, or do they have to install the intake and install the tune?

Do you get a "copy" of this tune? Like say you go to another dealer and they refresh you not knowing you have the intake? What keeps this from becoming an issue down the road?

I will answer as many of questions as I can as I find out. Mine is on its way and should have it on my car in 2 days. =)

wtf
The intake is illegal in all CARB states. I posted in the previous GM Intake threads that GM had already failed certification twice and can't get an EO. If they did fail a third time, that can spell trouble. GM should've let the product die.

Let's just say I'm going to feel really bad for owners in emission tested states when their new car exemption expires. Hope your vehicle is still completely stock then so you have recourse options.

The intake isn't going to change, but don't you find it strange they are promising the future models will be compliant for something as simple as an intake? Take it however you want -- but CARB is now curious about the fitness of the GenV SBC's in their current deployments.

Absolutely, if I can afford a couple of dyno runs.... I will let y'all know if there is any significant gains. I know all the folks in my GM performance parts dealership and will see what I can find out about what the tune actually changes. If anyone wants to know anything else, lemme know and Ill see what I can find out.

Yeah, before and after dyno runs would be great. I am 100% into getting this if it shows at least a solid 5+ rwhp on the dyno. Otherwise, I will pass...

I have a good stock dyno run that I'll do a comparison to after I receive my intake.
