If the 2016 Camaro comes with a 2.0T engine and weighs 3,450 pounds then it would be an epic ride especially with a 6 speed manual gearbox. The standard BMW 428i (with a 2.0T engine and manual trasmission) starts at 3,450 pounds no options.

If there is a 2.0t

3425 4 cylinder
3525 6 cylinder
3725 8 cylinder

All base so add options at your discretion.

My prediction but enough reality from ATS to be within a few pounds.

I still think a 3750 pound LT1 powered Camaro will be quite awesome even though some will still complain.

I also think the LT1 may get a slight bump from the Corvette. But I admit that is hopefull.

I totally agree with the guy saying its more about performance than freaking luxury. Options are there fore those folks. Let me choose if I want to pay for this crap or not. 1SS is great
Your initial thread said your weight came in at 3784 lbs at a quarter tank of fuel. I think your numbers are a little low but I'll still play your game. I weighed my car today fully loaded minus a sunroof, full fuel. Did the math, took out 3/4 tank of gas, and I came out at 3818. A total of 34 lbs heavier than your car. Whoop di fricken do da. That's not going to change a damn bit of performance. It's still a drivers race. And 2SS owners got leather, a higher resell value, and a better all around car. like I said before, it's a good thing GM gives us two options. This is America.

Now that I think about it, I had an iPad in the front seat. Damn near another pound there. Didn't think to check the trunk going to have to re-weigh tomorrow

The important thing here is the LT1 and the weight saving, AND the other goodies that I think GM has in store for the regular SS, TOGETHER. Which in my mind, this is going to be one hell of a good car!

I don't expect the Gen6 to weigh a ton less than the Mustang, but I do believe it will come in 75-100lbs less option for option.

That, with the LT-1 will make it the fastest pony/muscle car outside of the spendy halo models. I have no doubt, stock for stock, it will be faster than a 14 Mustang GT (which is faster than a 15) or a 392 Challenger.

The current SS is listed at 3935 for the 2SS and 3908 for the 1SS for base curb weight. "At least 200 lbs. lighter" to me means around 3700 for the 1SS give or take a few. The 2SS could be at your listed 3725 (give or take). That's my guess.

My guess for HP on the LT1? With the TriY shorty headers, and the dual mode exhuast option (hoping there still is one), 470HP 465lbfttq.

I'm not an experienced enough track guy to predict what that means for 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. Perhaps someone else can chime in?

As I was before, I am completely on board with this prediction.

The CT6 is supposed to be 3,700lbs, it would have to be a larger car than the Camaro, am I right. Seems to me GM is serious about weight reduction, I would not be surprised to see 200+lbs weight reduction on some Camaro models.

If the last LS3 made @ 10 less HP in the Camaro than in the Corvette, why wouldn't Chevy just do the same for the LT1...

I can hear it now...

Disgruntled Corvette owners complaining anywhere and everywhere that "the new Camaro gets a better engine than the new Corvette did, what the fudge!"

The Camaro LT1 will most likely be slightly less powerful than the Corvette LT1 as this makes sense for Chevy.

The new Camaro with 450-455 HP will have more power and torque (and better power to weight ratio) than the new Mustang, along with a better handling chassis to work with... That's all good.

Where are they? Show me corvette owners that are pissed about what engine is in the camaro? I hear everybody saying it, but nobody's backing it.
