Yes, the HC can hold four people comfortably. No one can sit in the back of my Camaro. Neither matter to me as no one rides in the back of mine anyway. For those that need that there's the Charger which is a true high horsepower family ride. I'll likely do a rear seat delete from the Demon in my Hellcat to shave weight when available. I wouldn't agree the Demon is a one trick pony. It can cruise the streets if you want, or it can run well at the drag strip. One trick ponies usually have to be trailored to the track. However, I will say neither the Hellcat nor the Demon are road course weapons and those that try to use them as such are foolish, but people will try. Looks are subjective. I think the Gen6 Camaro is a nice looking ride, some of my friends make fun of it for looking like a catfish (which it kinda does LOL). The hard lines are great. The Challenger looks great to me as well, it's the one on the market that has held on to the true muscle car look which is what I've personally always wanted, but I was a huge fan of Dukes of Hazard as a kid so there's that I'm blessed to have both. I like the looks of the ZL1, but the wing on the back is getting 1LE a bit much for me, and is approaching ricer territory. |

The wing on the 1le is effective. The ZL1 is record setting in it's class and beyond on a road course. It's a bit behind at the Dragstrip from what I've been seeing in person. High 7 second 1/8th miles at 95 usually but I have seen one run 7.58 at 95. I saw another one run 97 one day but he was the exception. The Camaro usually leaves fairly slow for a little bit, maybe 100ft or so for whatever reason. It may be Nannies and it may be driver. Not having a sticky tire is a negative but for overall performance the Didge pales in comparison. On a road course the Dodge is in the mirror. Think about it, 4 seconds behind the revered Viper at the "Ring" for half the money.

Dude....I just watched your video with the 11.19 in it. That's awesome. That little PDR system is pretty slick, giving all the time data, throttle, RPM etc. Excellent pass too. You're spinning quite a bit on launch it appears and still running low 11s. Figure that out and it's 10s for you. You gotta come to Beach Bend with us this fall for sure. 3.30 0-60 is awesome as well. Look forward to checking out your ride.

I ran my car again last Friday night at my local track and couldn't hook at all. Spinning all the way through 1st and 2nd gears. 60' in the 1.8 and 1.9 range. Still ran 11.4s except the last pass where I launched way too soft, just trying anything to stop the wheelspin. I'd probably been better off to run with traction control than launching that soft, or just letting it spin again. My local track's trap timers are apparently off as well. I'll post those videos soon so you can see what I'm talking about. If I pause the video as the front of my car gets to each timing line and take the average of those 2 speeds, the 1/8 matches up nearly perfect at London and Bowling Green both, but at the 1/4 the timeslip reads 3 to 4 mph less at London and only 1 mph less at Bowling Green. I can see my speedo reading 1 mph higher at that speed since I'm running lower air pressure, so I feel BG is right and London is not. My first pass in the left lane at London, my speedo was showing 127 and 129 at the timing lines (just like my 11.19 @ 127 at BG), which would average out to a 128, and would be a 127 if you subtract 1 mph for low air, but the slip shows 123.6. I immediately ran a second time, picking up my boy, and the speedo was showing 1 mph less at the lines (126 and 128), but the slip shows a faster speed of 124.2. Needless to say, I ran the right lane the rest of the night. Lol! So matching up my runs with the same speedo readings at the 2 tracks, London's left lane is 3.7 mph lower and the right lane is 1.4 mph lower than Bowling Green. I only ran the left lane at BG last time, so maybe I'll run both next time to see if there's a difference there too, or if both lanes read about the same like they should.

You get in to analyzing junk like I do LOL
I prefer the right lane at Beech Bend, from the experiences in the old Challenger. I've only made two play passes in the Hellcat when I was running ChallengerFest this year, so no real testing to see how I like it in the Hellcat. Old car was a 6 speed manual R/T and it was a handful. The left lane I was always comfortable. The right lane seemed to always have some drama, a slight slide at the big end, the dip/bump, etc. Always made me nervous at nearly 130MPH. I only ran the left lane a few times and the ETs would be almost identical, but the best 60' I ever got was in the left lane (1.51 nearly a record for all 6 speeds at the time) and the best MPH I ever got was in the left lane as well. 130.x MPH where I normally saw 128 in the right. Will be fun for us to have both cars on the track. |

Wow, that's quick! Looking forward to seeing what you run when the really good air comes in. What's the elevation of your track?

That's some awesome times in the R/T!! Guessing it had a blower or turbo with those speeds. That 60' is killer for a manual! Looking forward to seeing that Go Mango cat of yours and how our cars fair against one another. You're stock on drag radials, right?

PDR always reads slow, not fast. The in-dash timer is more accurate and it read 3.3 as well. I had 2 3.3 and 1 3.4 0-60 during my passes that day. I was actually shocked when I watched that PDR video back and saw that it had given the same 0-60 time and was only .1 slow on the 1/4. It's usually .1-.2 slow on everything, sometimes more. Plus spinning tires doesn't give you a faster time unless you're doing a burnout and spin the tires to 60, which I've done preparing for a pass a few times. They are in the 1.4-1.5 range. I've always hooked up way before 60 mph rolls around, even on the street.

I've been looking at drag radials myself. I wouldn't mind running them full time on my stock wheels, but they don't make any in the right size yet. They're all too tall and will rub my inner fender liner. I've found some 18" Mickey's that should work if I decide to just bolt them on when I go to the track. May do that. Not sure yet. A tire will definitely be the first thing I do to the car. Want to see what I can do bone stock, and stock with a tire, before I start modding. Plus I'm not quite ready to forfeit my warranty.
