So I take it starting at 63K they are killing off in their hopes the V8 series by pricing it out of the planet?

I don't see how that price is too much for the Xts and how people can complain about it 63k for a 400 plus hp and top notch luxury it cost the same as a CTSV no one complains about that be too pricey for a less luxurious and smaller car. It Is still cheaper than what it competes with. Have any yall priced out any current caddy's the Escalade is more expensive than that.

I see the pricing as a way to kill off the CTS-V. They will price the CTS higher watch in a hope to get rid of it.

Um no. CTS-V will be priced exactly where it should be, in M5 territory.

Cadillacs are NOT supposed to be affordable for all.

GM invests $133 million in Wentzville Assembly to prepare for next gen midsize trucks.

Didn't someone previously say there wasn't a market for midsize trucks?

It's definitely not as lucrative as it once was.

GM needs to play their cards very carefully with these. The only real competitor is Tacoma now that Ford has left the market.

The problem with the GMT-355s was there really wasn't a reason to buy them. For a bit more you could just step up to a GMT-900. With the next-gen midsize trucks, there has to be legitimate incentives to buy one, whether it be fuel economy, a diesel powertrain, off-road models, etc.

Agreed. Same thing happened with the Dakota, everything was smaller than the Ram, except the price and there was no fuel economy benefit or otherwise. I do have a softspot for the 5.3 V8 Colorado/Canyon and the 2008+ Dakota with the upgraded 302 HP 4.7. It always aggravated me that not one publication compared these 2, would have made an interesting read, though I guess this was a sign of how inconsequential they had become in the automotive landscape.

So GM should stop building the ZL1?

With the z28 coming out it could...but with that said the ZL1 still IS unique in that it is a luxury sort of model for the Camaro with the magnetic shocks - something the GT500 really doesn't match. My comment still stands though - quit rehashing a segment when you can create one. It isn't as safe but the potential for greater profit is there.
