New rear tail lights

I don’t think you guys read the previous posts. Not to be rude, but I don’t plan to repost what I’ve already said. If I missed something let me know and I’ll be happy to contribute.

Perhaps I missed something but in the video of the installed lamps the inboard brake lamp segment appears to the full length of the area and it doesn’t look like there is room for a reverse lamp segment. Does a portion of the brake lamp change from red to white?

Yes, the brake LED is in the same position as stock. Essentially that section of the LED illuminates white to denote reverse.

Sorry to be a dumbass. I’ve read this thread from start to finish but I’m still unclear... if I go ahead and order a set of these lights will the harness required to make them work correctly be supplied with them or does that have to be ordered separately?

I am in the UK so wouldn’t be able to be a part of your intended group buy. A (final) link to the selling page of everything required would be awesome.

Thank you.

I was looking back at post 149 and I wasn't able to find a gif of the reverse lights. Do you happen to have an image or video on how those have turned out? Also, I think I have the original link from alibaba saved, but is that were I would go to order these new ones with the new harness?

Thanks Ecko, you've put a lot of time into this project and we appreciate it .

Also, how did your DIY taillights ever turn out?

The way it looks, they used a switchback led which makes sense.

They did not use any switchback LED, I’m not sure where that misinformation is coming from.

I don’t have any pics of the reverse bulb. Its in the same position as stock except with a white led.

Per the supplier, new orders will ship with the new harness. Whether it’ll be installed upon arrival or included in the instructional bag; I do not know. It’s plug and play so if you can unplug and reconnect a harness you’ll be good.

I went with the Helix sequential tail lights. I wanted to go with these. But I like the Helix style better.

New rear tail lights

I’m not sure if a group buy would be worthwhile. There’s really no savings to be had unless ordering 20+ sets. A small group by of say 10 would run about $250/each shipped. I would need to have 10 paid orders before I could place the order with the supplier.

On Alibaba there are several wholesalers that will gladly allow you to place an order for 1. The price shipped should still be around $250 which is preferable to the $400+ stateside sellers will charge for them.

The tail light itself I can get down to 180-190, but there’s nothing that can be done for the 60-70$ shipping charge for each set.
