I'm pretty sure it's no different from activation on a regular car that's located at the dealer. They'll need the buyers information, and the VIN #. Either you use an existing OnStar account...or they make you a new one using your email address.

Then you'll need to restart your App or log out and back into your online account to access the car.

When they did it for mine (first time I'd done it)...they weren't confident it would work without pushing the blue button in the car. But it did!

Download the My Chevrolet App to your phone, login, and then there should be a place to where you click locate my car.

Exactly.

It's called "Parked Location". Tap on that, then "locate vehicle".

Keep in mind, if it doesn't work, or returns an error code...the car may have been left off for a couple of days. Next time it turns on, you can track it, again.

It works. The car has 3 gallons of gas, last went 2 miles and the rear tires are a little low on air. Need to call Lansing and tell them to put air in the rear tires LOL.
