I'm sorry assume you know everything about your local C5 club. But by your own admission, you have not talked to any of us, so you are basing your opinion on only assumptions.

Did you know that at quite a few car shows there is a club award and we are asked by the show sponsors to park together. So if there is a question on the number of members they can simply count up the cars, which happened last year when there was a tie at on of the shows. Which means that there was another club with just as many members there as us.

Did you know that we also have our own charity show for Children's Miracle Network??

Did you know we also did a toys for tots cruise last December??

Did you know we also support other car groups charity shows and functions??

Did you know we have 64 camaros and 108 people so far signed up to attend a Hooters Rockford cruise which will help benefit Breast Cancer research??

Yes we go to car shows together, we also go to Dyno pulls together and track days. We use our numbers and members to help each other out, just as you do on Camaro5. We use our numbers to get sponsers, to get cheaper dyno days, track days because there are more of us.

Based on what you are saying when all these fine folks get together at Camaro5Fest they should just snub each other, because the 5th Gen sucks so bad in your opinion?

Maybe you are the problem, since you never even took the time to find out what we are about.

Let me start by introducing myself. I am a board member and the Motorsports Event Coordinator for, what I believe, is the Camaro club in question from the OP first and ongoing posts. That being said I would like to point out a few things, as well offer up a few suggestions to assist you in calming the issues you may have with our group.

First let me help you with your very valid point: reckless driving.
We have a set of bylaws written by our founding members and in those "burnouts and other reckless and dangerous driving" will not be tolerated. I ask that if you see one of our members acting in this manner please contact me via PM here so that the issue can be addressed. I cannot be at every event so I ask that if we are not conducting ourselves properly behind the wheel you allow myself or another board members or co-chairs to deal with the situation so that it does not happen in the future.... However with that being said please keep in mind that there are performance mods that many of our members have done that cannot be seen, only heard or felt. The latter (felt) should only be displayed in a controlled environment such as a track.... But I know a lot of the time I am asked to start and rev my engine because they want to hear the exhaust.

Second point: taking up too many spaces. I too will agree that this can prove annoying but I know some of our members are very careful with their vehicles because they are like children to them. That being said I am QUITE sure that if asked to make room or tighten up their lines they would... In a heartbeat... But once again if you see they don't after being asked to... Please contact me, I will again, if necessary, address the individual(s) at fault.

Third Point: us waving you over and asking you to join... I am sorry we have offended you to the point you do not feel the desire to join us. It saddens me to know this... Because we really are a great group of different individuals! Granted we have our brain fart DBag moments... But who doesn't... Right? We motion for you to join us because we share at least one common bond. The Camaro.

Last point: our shirts. Sorry this bothers you, but there is nothing I can or will do about this.

Once again I mention, myself and the others on the board cannot make every show, event, or track day... (But trust me we try) if you happen to see a member of C5G acting in a way that reflects negatively on the club please let me know so that it can be handled.

I thank you for your patience and assistance with this... We really are a great group... I hope you will have an opportunity to see that and maybe, just maybe, hang out with us sometime... We are hosting a charity car show coming up next month to benefit CMN.... Perhaps we will see you there!

I think when this all went south was with the onslaught of 5th gen clubs... CAMARO clubs have been around a long long time. Is it necessary to be so cool that you have to have a 5th gen only club? This is why enthusiasts hate 5th gen owners. If you don't get it, you never will.

This horse is dead. Seems people are on one side of the coin or the other and everyone thinks the people on the otherwise are idiots. Whatever.

Just sent... don't want to offend anyone.

It's still the best imo.

Left handed people are the only ones in their right mind. Lol
From what I saw when I had my camaro was that most people gave me crap for bringing a new car more than one of my old ones. But, the crowd liked it.

Dude shut up. The car show isn't mine, as it has been going on for well over 20 years. I was in grade school when this thing started. I'm not going to overstep my bounds and go start an argument or cause tension with a bunch of people at a car show that is meant to be a fun event for everyone. Creating unneccessary drama serves no real purpose. I have already addressed my concerns with the people who do organize the show. If they come back and tell me to address my concerns directly, then I will. The purpose of this thread was to state my experiences, and to state that the 5th gen Camaro is not the end-all-be-all of the automotive/muscle car scene.

The irony of all you people who say "YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING IN PERSON, ONLY OVER THE INTERNET!" is down right hilarious. Pot, Kettle, Black.
