I know specifically, the LSA in the ZL1 underwent over 260 hours of continuous WOT testing on a dyno, and a 24-hour track test twice...over 600 clutch-dumps at redline, I think that's the number...all without failure. |

EDIT: back on topic. Don't bash the 2.0T motor until you've driven one. It was the 1st Direct Injection motor GM released in the U.S. market! Way ahead of it's time in 07/08

I don't know other manufacturer's testing procedures...but I would bet money that they make GM's methods look ridiculous and over-complicated by comparison. Which, I personally, consider a good thing in many cases. Quote:

Good photoshop job on those rear tires....I had a 2003 Monte LS and I know you couldn't get tires that wide under it...

While I'm sure Chevy has a great 4 cylinder engine, why does it need to be put in a pony/muscle car? This stuff is never reciprocal; it's not like they're going to also give us an option to upgrade to an LS3 in the Cruze or anything.

Instead of outrage this should be viewed as a great thing. If the 6th Gen Camaro can have a viable turbo 4cyl option then this will be a much lighter and more nimble vehicle than the 5th Gen. That's better for all levels of performance and fuel efficiency.
Have no fear there will be V8's in future Camaro's. GM may have to make them more premium than they are now but the options will be there.
