So my car that was tagged as "Produced" on June 8 finally showed up as "In transit" to my dealer today. That is hopefully a good sign?

Hopefully your wait won't be too bad since you are in Detroit. I think for others, once it is "In Transit", it is still at least a weeks-long wait. It does seem like once they ship, it is pretty quick - this morning a few showed up with estimated arrival dates in California within the next two weeks. It is just getting them shipped that seems to be the issue. Mine has been "in transit" for going on a couple of weeks now, no further updates or ETA. My dealer felt it could be about a month, but I am not holding my breath.

That is what I am hoping! One of the local dealers I asked told me they come by truck from Lansing, not rail, so hopefully it will be in this week. My dealer is useless for shipping information, although they did get the allocation pretty quickly, so I can't complain.

I know we've all been there, but this waiting sucks! Put my order in2 months ago for a 2023 2SS and still hasn't been accepted by the manufacturer. Well my dealer said it's "in queue for production" Chevy chat said it hasn't been accepted. I was hoping to have it before winter, but I have a feeling it'll show up in December in the middle of a snow storm ��

Definitely get the status code from the dealer. If it is still at 1100/1101, it won’t be accepted and they need to resubmit the order for a 2024. Orders are no longer being accepted for 2023s.

Ok, so mine is on the way to my house, and the out of state dealer set up the online services a few days before. So now I am watching the transport driver go.....everywhere else...on the app, and hoping he makes it here on time.

I'd not have the patience for a full length wait time after my house was delayed 8 months last year. Good luck to you all.

I think you need to re-order a 2024. it is my understanding (mostly by reading this forum) that your 2023 order is discarded when they start taking 2024 orders.

Dealer assured me I'd have no problem getting a '23 but if I have to I'm okay with re submitting for a '24, other than paying more lol. I keep getting conflicting information from Chevy chat and the dealership. It's unfortunate we can't get reliable information when ordering a 60k plus car.

Your dealer is overconfident at your expense. I would request a change to 2024 and get a new order number asap.

Dealer informed me today that my order was accepted by manufacturer on May 29th and that I'm #55 on their production schedule. They said they're not sure why Chevy chat would say it hasn't been accepted because it has. Sooo, I guess I just gotta wait and see.

I think all orders are "Accepted" - that is when you get the order number. Doesn't mean much of anything until you get a TPW.

Having a order accepted means GM has now accepted the order, has given the dealer an allocation and the order now waits a build date, that is a pretty big deal vs an order being placed at the dealer.
Putting an order in the system at a dealer it gets an 1100 status code, that doesn't have much meaning. A 2000 status codes say woo hoo, my car is likely to be built in the next 4->8 weeks. The TPW comes after that status code of course. A order can sit at 1100 for weeks and months or more waiting an allocation from GM. That allocation is key and that is at status 2000.

Here are the status codes:

1000 Order On Hold at Dealership
1100 Order Placed at Dealership
1101 Order Entered into System
1102 Order Entered via Web
2000 Order Accepted by Chevrolet
2001 Order Generated to Dealer
2005 Order Replaced with GM Prospec Order
2030 Order Edited by Chevrolet
2050 Order Changed
2500 Order Preferenced (or "Picked Up" or "Imaged"), Sent to Production
3000 Order Accepted by Production Control
3100 Order Available to Sequence (now becomes more stable)
3300 Order Selected and Scheduled for Production by Assembly Plant (Target Production Week usually available now)
3400 Order Broadcasted for Production (Internal Plant Order Produced)
3800 Vehicle Produced
4000 Vehicle Available to Ship
