You could always put it on the car unpainted and take it to the shop like that?

Still have my ear to the ground though on bigger cars for transport *looked around here, doesn't look like the stock hood is to hard to get off. This might actually be the easier way to do it instead since then I wouldn't have to pick up the stock hood

Not in my hometown lol
Yeah that's what I've decided to do. Then no hassle getting the stock hood back.

Finally got my headers on and all I can say is JESUS. I knew the power gain was going to be incremental given my prior mods but still, I can feel the surge of torque at lower rpm and it shoves you into your seat. The sound is also awesome, a tad raspy at certain times maybe? But it sounds like a rally car, or some euro tour six cylinder car, so I like it. Generally it is just throatier and wilder sounding.
Install was a breeze, I went to a friend of a friend with a shop, and we worked on it together. My old gaskets were in great shape but I had new ones anyway, also no O2 extension needed. The passenger side untied and was more than enough, the driver side was tight but also had some more length to spare if you tugged at where it was included into the larger cable on the passenger side. By the end it was just fine, not too loose, not crooked. I'm at about 10 miles and no CEL yet, but I expect to see one soon. I had heard to rev your engine right at start up to help heat the cats to prevent a CEL, we'll see if it works. Other than all that, I was going to wait about 100 miles of driving to datalog and get a re-tune, is this reasonable?

Did the sound increase a lot over what you had? What exhaust setup are you running? |

Good to hear. Like I shad in your other thread headers are my next mod. We shall see how long it takes me to save the money for all that is needed. Plan on buying the AFR gauge, Aeroforce interceptor, and pillar pod first. |
