A lot of people that dyno-ed the car were showing results that made it seem like the car made less than 580hp. I know that's not exactly an accurate way to measure because different dynos vary greatly, but just look at trap speeds then. Those don't lie. While some were trapping pretty good, a lot of the time, they just weren't trapping as high as they should. Other cars with less power and the same or more weight were tested to trap higher than the ZL1. That's just my opinion.

I'm ready, let me have it.
Based on what I've seen constantly at the drag strip you are correct. They are a disappointment.

Am I the only one who thinks the 1SS should have had the 1LE style gauge cluster?

Seriously. This needs to be understood. Possibly the biggest thing about this forum is the community aspect and enjoying the thing that brings us together.

  • Square sized more track-able tires
  • Carbon Fiber wheels (Maybe)
  • Deeper Splitter
  • Gurney flap spoiler
  • Blacked out hood.
  • Let's leave the LT1 alone, it has plenty of power for the 99% drivers to get into trouble
While from a marketing standpoint this Chevy would lose based on power and naming, but being lighter if possible would help. This could wind up being just like the Boss 302/1LE comparison where the low key cheaper Chevy beat the big bad Boss.

Chevy might need to do more to beat the GT350R though. Time will tell.
I was talking about a 1LE package, but your list sounds good for a Z with power increase of course.

The car is truly amazing to drive and I can hardly wait for you to drive one and see what we're talking about.

We're never 'finished' working on Camaro............

As someone who has been(admittedly) bitter about the 7 year hiatus of a Camaro, and someone who was very outspoken about his disappointment in the Gen 5s weight and Automatic/L99 setup, I say "Thank you".
THIS is the car Ive been waiting for. For a long, long time.
Yall definitely DID listen to the consumer. That is a rarity, now days. Literally, everything I would had changed has been changed/improved.
Thank you Team Camaro!

Now if a working man didn't have to take out a 10 year loan on a car with a 60k warranty it would be nice. Given the flat wages over the past 8 years I want to see the creative financing on these cars. Won't be long until the interest rates begin to increase. Yes, some of us make fair money but these cars aren't cheap by any stretch.
Chevy did a nice job on the power to weight for this car, now lower the side windows.

Great job Camaro team. Excellent numbers.

As a current Camaro SS 1LE owner, the only challenge is finding a place to use all this performance. The limits on these cars are so high now that in order to fully appreciate these cars we need more tracks to drive on.

If it is leather, then would be a 2LT without the optional 8" cluster screen.
