Congrats. I found a 2SS exactly how I want it but only down side it’s 20 hour drive away. Debating on if that’s even worth it.

If you are serious about getting one, it is worth going the distance for it. Negotiate a deal, fly to pick it up and drive back. Instant gratification. I have gone the order route on two of them and it's a lot of patience and hurdles to go through. One of my orders was built in mid January and still waiting. Just go get it, it won't be available for long.

Thanks That’s what I needed to hear. It should be arriving at the Dealer May 11th. I’ve been talking to them all day. Think I’m going to go ahead get it.

Great to hear that. Please don't talk to much, jump on it an sign a contract; a big relief will set in. If you really want a 2SS 1LE this is the much easier route than ordering which can take 5-9 months depending on dealership and a host of other issues. It is only going to get worse, as the order banks are going to fill up quickly as we approach the end of the Camaro next January. If people don't act now, they risk not getting a new one. I can already hear people complaining four to six months from now.

Is there anyway that I can get proof that my order was entered with an allocation? The salesman insists that he did. But it's been 2 weeks, and he says that it takes at least a month for an order to be accepted. But that doesn't seem to be the case going by the experiences of those on this board.

Your order status has to be at 2000 or higher for it to be accepted by GM. https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=606888

Allocations are typically dropped on thursdays and accepted by the following tuesday, so it doesnt take months.

If I ask for a screenshot of the order, will I be able to see if an allocation was used on it? The only reason I give them the benefit of the doubt is that Chevy Chat told me that LT1s are on a 20% restriction. But I don't know if that is pre or post allocation.

Build restriction would matter if your order was accepted by GM and its at stage 2000 or beyond.
