Anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area looking for a ZL1? Autonation Chevrolet in North Richland Hills has a Sharkskin Metallic ZL1 10A available. I’m unsure of options. Also, Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine has a Black ZL1 6M available, also unsure of options. Classic also has a 2SS 6M in Radiant Red. Autonation informed me of a build allocation for the ZLE I’ve wanted, and tried unloading the Silver one when I was ordering the ZLE. at any rate, I’ve got my status 1100 for the ZLE 6M in Summit White, and expect the 2000 soon!

My suggestion is first check your priority level if you haven’t already. Ideally you want to be a 1 meaning your first order in line at your dealer. After that as long as you have priority 1, it’s a matter of your dealer getting an allocation for your build. I will say allocations are at least trim specific it seems. Sounds like Chevy tells dealers what they can and can’t order when they send allocations out on Thursdays. It’s not just a matter of getting an allocation for a Camaro period, perhaps sometime GM gives the dealer several trim options to possibly order I don’t know. My dealer specifically told me the allocation they had available was for a 2SS 1LE which is what my build was for.

Crazy turn of events on Thursday I placed an order at a 3rd dealership that I had called about who had the exact car in transit that I wanted, but it was pre sold. They called me Friday mid day and said they have great news for me the person who pre ordered it was laid off and will not be buying the car now. (He was trading in his C8 corvette for the ZL1)So I drive 3 hours in the rain to pick it up. Once it stops raining I’ll take some pictures. The dealership didn’t wanna honor GME because they only do it for ordered vehicles and I didn’t order it. But after an hour of going back and fourth they caved. 2 years of looking, debating and saving I finally got my ZL1.

This sounds correct in my experience as well. The dealership will call saying they got allocation for a SS model and if I want to change my order from a ZL1 to a SS I can have that build slot. I pass on it and don't lose my priority 1 status for a ZL1. I'm curious why they would get allocation for a SS and not a ZL1 if there are no part constraints on building a ZL1.

Thanks for the reply. I was getting nervous. So, I just asked the salesman. He said he hasn't seen any orders get accepted in under a month. I don't think that is right from what I've seen here. I just hope I'm not being mislead.
But I did hear from Chevrolet Chat that LT1s are on a 20% constraint.

Finally! My dealer called and said my car should arrive on the 15th. I'm not getting my hopes all the way up, but its nice to finally see an update.

Now for the daunting task of selling or trading my current Camaro without getting ripped off.
