My dealer just said all the dealers in the area are hounding the rail yard to deliver because they need inventory for this weekend sales (july 4th). (The cars can sit in the rail yard for weeks sometimes before dealer delivery). But they're hiring extra help for delivery to all the area dealers, so hopefully I will actually get delivery this week... Fingers crossed. I told him to tell those extra helpers to BE CAREFUL with my car!

My dealer's sales manager emailed me today. At my request he sent the order work bench. There have been 12 changes between HB00, 4200, and 4300. Their GM rep told them my vehicle (plus one other from this dealer) are being held at Toledo for additional quality. The Toledo facility is GM Powertrain which makes me believe this is relating to the transmission and/or torque converter issue I've seen mentioned on this forum. According to my dealer there is no time frame given for when this "quality hold" will be completed and my car will be delivered to me.

He also informed me that the private offer does not apply to the 2017 model Camaro. He provided the paperwork from GM which shows the Volt as the only 2017 model eligible.

I am very, very patient. I originally had no issues waiting for my car because that meant I would just have more money saved for a down payment. However now there are several other factors that make me want my vehicle now. I do not think I can wait much longer. I am leaning toward cancelling my order, making a few compromises, saving several thousand dollars, and going to find a 2016 vehicle on the lot somewhere near me (Rodger's Chevrolet, I'm sure).

I am trying not to stomp my feet and throw a temper tantrum, but I am quite frustrated. I recognize the necessity for the vehicle to be held and for it to be properly analyzed and fixed by the engineers responsible for the component in question. However, there is no compensation for the time that I am waiting and GM nor my dealer are required to be concerned. It seems as though it does not pay to order a brand new car.

Alternatively... I might go buy a Mustang 5.0.

Pretty sure that's where mine is. I know it's been pulled for a QC hold along with a bunch of others. But I'm a manual so the torque converter wouldn't apply.

This is a frustrating process. I completely understand.

Today I hit day 100 of this journey.

I don't know what advice to give you, but I do feel your frustration with the lack of transparency at some stages and the frustration with the lack of some of the dealer's accountability, consistency and customer service.

I hope it all works out!

Well I washed and waxed her for the first time today! Then went over to the high school for a photo shoot. I got some good shots as the sun was going down. I took, like, 20 pictures. I've uploaded them to my profile if anyone wants to check them out.

Put 350 miles on her in 3 days. 1200 more to go!
