Hello everyone, I put in an order. I had an 86 IROC as my first car and I've wanted a new Camaro ever since I let the IROC go in 2005.
I ordered an LT1. I had a hard time deciding between Radiant Red, Red Hot, or Vivid Orange. I went with Red Hot. It may not be as dramatic as Vivid Orange, but it is beautiful, and it pays homage to my red IROC. The dealer used an allocation supposedly that they got the day before. It was the 17th dealer that I called - I was beginning to get worried. |

Hey guys, I put my 2023 Sharksin Metallic 1SS 1LE order in on April 18th with Parkway Chevrolet and received a workbench sheet the same afternoon. Hopefully will see the car in a couple months! My salesman said they had 3 allocated and didnt know what other slots of SS models they'd be getting in for the rest of the year so i pulled the trigger. Really cool how we can track how the progress is coming along on here.

What determines how many allocations a dealership gets?

According to my dealer, with ZL1's at least, it's partly based on how many days till the car is sold from reaching the lot. If they are turning quick they are rewarded with more allocations. If they try to charge mark up and the cars sit forever Chevy punishes them by not giving as many future allocations.
So when looking for allocations look for a high volume dealer flipping a lot of camaros.

I put deposits in at 3 dealers. 2 high volume, 1 mid sized dealer that sells mostly trucks. The mid sized dealer got my allocation first (after 5 weeks). Big dealers may get more allocations but also have a bigger waiting list.
For those who "think" they got an allocation, ask dealer what status the order is at. If not 2000 or higher, you did NOT get an allocation.

My story gets even better now. I got a call from my dealer yesterday “Mike I have great news we got an allocation for a ZL1 but now we aren’t going to honor you GM discount.” Even though 2 weeks ago when they told me they order me one they would.

This is now multiple times in the past week or two I have heard dealerships just not accepting GM discounts AFTER telling people they would. Is it because they are running to the end of the line and know people will pay full price for these? It seems really shady that dealers wouldn't be accepting them at all, especially after telling people the discounts would be honored.

For the one I ordered it was 6k. I’m currently now ordered at 2 other dealerships that do accept GME but they don’t have allocation.

I believe dealer participation in GM Employee programs is voluntary, so this isnt a surprise especially in the current market.

I placed at order at a dealer who told me that they had an allocation, and from looking at the computer screen, it seems that they did. I got the order number on Wednesday, but it's still showing order not accepted on chevy chat. How long before I should be worried?
