Exactly. Literally no other options unless we go used. Even used options are on the rise. Used BRZ t.S's are 31k plus...wild.

Any solid confirmation on the 10 May - 28 Jun shutdown? I've onlyt read that one place and that makes it undependable.

It came to my email from GM, or to be more specific, from Steve Carlisle who is President of GM North America. I'd say that's pretty reliable.

I was told by a few members on this site like GearheadSS that all dealers were notified.

I ordered a new pick up on Monday. They said maybe 16 weeks to get one if I am lucky. They also said they aren’t building vehicles with the back up or blind spot sensors as they can’t get the chips needed to run them

That's crazy concerning the backup sensors, thats basically a standard option these days.

OK I contacted my dealer about it, I've got that money tied up in something that GM can't/isn't able to deliver. I absolutely still want the Z for sure.

It's because they are part of a safety package on the trucks that includes several safety options. Front and rear parking sensors, lane change alert, side blind zone alert and rear cross traffic alert.

Since they're tied to the semiconductor shortage, they're limiting these options on trucks so that they can build full size SUVs and Corvettes that come standard with them.

NEVER approach a situation as a do or die. Make a plan and stick to it. Only thing you will get buying new or used right now is over paying for it. Relax take a breath, make out a game plan and proceed. Unless u have money to burn.
