Why yes, yes I did. I can obviously see AND read that the hood is satin black. Is it a wrap or did they figure out a way to paint it. The OP says nothing about the hill assist or the shift block.

Is it an optical illusion from the lighting and the colors, but doesn't the V6-1LE appear to sit lower than the SS-1LE?

After having a night to think about it I'm on the fence. A few things from this thread
1) I was 100% wrong when I said in another thread that there was no way it will be available on a V6. I still think they should have given it a different RPO code but GM has proven time and time again that they don't care about the heritage of RPO codes (I don't mean that in a bad way, just a statement) 2) People say that it's good that it's not available with an auto as the manual is the only way to go on a race car. While that used to be the case, the 8L90 is every bit as fast as a manual around tracks now. Gone are the days of 3 and 4 speed autos with no manual abilities. It would be nice to have the option. I'm still getting a manual if I get a 1LE but I see the appeal now with current autos and how good they are. 3) I'm afraid that this is going to be a $7k package but on the 1SS that's still affordable. No way will this be anywhere near the $3,500 on the 5th gen. (Let's hope I'm wrong again) 4) The only thing I really hope for (but is doubtful) is that the Bose is available on it. I can deal with not having memory, heated seats, disco lighting, lane departure, etc. But for most people this will be a ~$48k daily driver with occasional track use. I really would like to have a good stereo for the 99% of the time that I'm on the street. Not many people can afford a $48k track car to sit in their garage except on track days. 5) Like someone else mentioned, no drilled front rotors on the 6 pots. I'm curious if this was a slight cost savings measure or a performance measure. Interesting. I would like to see it in various colors. I was set on black but with all of the black accents, I might change to a brighter color if I go with the 1LE. GM really knocked it out of the park with this, I just hope the price is not crazy but I fear it will be. |

Definitely a nice set-up. For me personally, I will be waiting for the ZL-1. Not going to the track at all to justify the 1LE package. When time comes, I will sell the 2012 2SS, pass on the 2016 1SS to my son and get the ZL-1 .
Great thing though to have all these options. Chevy is awesome!!!

For anyone concerned over the legality of MRC in SCCA SOLO sanctioned auto cross, i attached the rule book... basically the tl;dr of it is for street classes, if the car came with MRC from the factory, it's legal.... if anyone has more experience with SCCA rules feel free to chime in, couldn't really find anything for NASA sanctioned events

I would imagine that they can keep the 1LE under $6000 maybe $5000. People seem to forget that for the most part each new 1LE part replaces an SS part that was never installed in the first place on the line. So you're really looking at how much more does the 1LE part cost over the equivalent SS part it replaces. This is at GM's cost which is nowhere near the cost of the retail option for upgrading the SS after the fact. Keeping the package tightly confined in terms of add-ons helps as well. GM was still making plenty of profit offering the 1LE option on the 5th Gen at $3500 and they'll continue to do so with whatever the 6th Gen 1LE comes in at.

How do you think it will be a 7k dollar pacakge and then state it will be a 48k dollar car?
This pacakge gives the 1SS the features I wanted from 2SS, which is HUD and leather/suede.. As long as it's not cloth. I'm guessing this will put the car in the 2SS ballpark range, maybe a tad bit over. 42-44k. |

This is awesome for the v6 but is it over the top for the SS since you can buy all those items in the gm accessory catalog? The only thing I am really interested in is the PDR. Being that it is optional in the 1LE I am going to assume it will be an accessory that I can buy for my 2SS. I also would like to get the dimension of the rim that way I can look for those sizes but a different rim, I am not a fan of those ones.

I love everything about the 1LE, but wish an automatic was an option.
