Keep this in mind: the above statement does NOT stipulate, mention, or require putting brand NEW oil in BEFORE a track event. So, one could dd the car until the computer says the oil life is down to 20% and THEN take it to a track. If that were to happen 4 hr track use (2 track days on average) would likely be a good suggestion. But if somebody changes oil before a track event then changing it after 4hrs seems rather ridiculous waste of money to me. And that's why perhaps this statement seems gone from a 2019 manual? As i had said before, a member here sent out his Valvoline MST Dexos 2 5w40 after 6 track days (if i recall correctly) for pro analysis and i came back clean. I change mine every 5 track days or so plus whatever dd i do in between (which aint much). Cheers! |

Mobil 1. This particular 15W-50 is available at most Walmarts.

It's also readily available on Amazon. Mobil 1 has been making 15W-50 for years. |

Yes, it is designed with LSPI in mind and for the LT1 and LT4 use. Ever since Mazda put the DISI engine into production and companies started adopting Direct Injection it has been a problem. You can get the wet sump oil fill cap using part number 12686472.

I've contacted Speedway to see if they are an eligible retailer. They aren't listed on Mobil 1, but that means nothing as Summit and Walmart aren't either and they are always eligible retailers. The only hard no is Amazon per the fine print. Still doesn't help you with the 2 day difference in purchase. Did they ship? If not cancel and reorder.

Is there a big advantage to this oil over Valvoline MST 5W-40? My dealer will charge me the difference in oil price to use the Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40 under the free maintenance plan, which is about the same cost as me using the 5W-40. I'd rather not have the dealer do anything to the car if I don't have to, so not sure if the 0W-40 is worth it.

The valvoline mst stands for mid saps technology.
Mobil one esp 0w-40 is low saps. (Google it or read bob is the oil guy site) Low saps is better for reducing direct injection valve deposits. Valvoline is reported to have weak additive packages and not liked much on the ”bitog”site. I’ll be sticking to the M1 esp until something better comes around and while under warranty.

Thanks for the feedback! It sounds like I'll be going to the dealer for the ESP.

The oil is expensive compared to other Mobil 1 products. I'm not sure what the dealer upcharge is for you, but if you do it yourself Mobil 1 has a rebate = $24 for the 10 quarts the car requires. Speedway lowered their price to $49.99 a box, but they didn't answer if they are an eligible seller for the rebate. Summit will price match the $49.99 if you call them and is eligible for the rebate.
