Just got home after delayed in Charlotte. Had a nice lady headed to London sitting on the Aisle.(thank goodness for her)Two screaming kids in front and a guy with the personality of a rock on the window seat.

Hey Deb. You keeping your feet dry up your way? I figure you're due north of us, and thus hit by the past weeks "rain train".

Axel was such a good boy getting his stitches out... The tumor was a nerve sheath tumor, and they are benign!!!! They do tend to reoccur in the same place, so we'll have to keep an eye on his leg, but he's going to be just fine! Here's a pic of him that my hubby took yesterday....

OMG I'm so tired of water falling from the sky! Haven't seen the sun since last Saturday. Looks like more of the same all weekend too. :( Are you folks getting a break from it down there?

Yup. We finally got some sunshine today after 5 days of almost continuous rain. (And before anyone from the northwestern states chimes in, we're talking about 5 days of torrential rains on top of the rain we got last week from Hurricane Irean.) I got caught in a serious down-pour in Fairfax county Virginia on the way home from work yesterday. Creeks flooding roads all over the place. Took me damn near 4 hours to make a trip that would normally take just over an hour. Fun Fun!

Ouch.. on the four hour drive. There were detours because of flooding when I went to NJ this week but wasn't four hours bad. We had about seven inches of rain by Wednesday, slowed down a little the past couple of days.

I have family just down the road in Dumfries who had similar problems. Wish there was some way to route that water here to the desert SW - we'd gladly take it off your hands.

Great picture and great news Ladybugsmom

hotrodsally Nice video in your sig. How long have you been in Vegas?I remember the nasty flood in '03 when we were living there part of the year. Caught everyone by surprise. A Couple of brief Thunderstorms and about an inch of rain is all it took. We were up off off Cheyenne Ave and Jones shopping and couldn't get home. Ended up stranded at a Border's Book Store for hours.

For those of you in the Northeast Please stay safe. Remember Hurricane Agnes as a kid growing up in SW PA. Remember she dumped over a foot and a half of rain in some areas of PA already saturated.

Morning SSBUSDRVR, sounds like you get around - A LOT! I moved here in '84 (traded 9 months of winter for 9 months of summer). I remember that storm like it was yesterday. The NW valley got a drenching unlike any I'd seen previously. Remember all the people who had to be rescued? Can you imagine what would've happened without all the flood detention basins?

My sister works downtown and lives in the Cheyenne/Grand Canyon area. When she left work about 5PM the roads were jammed. Instead of heading to my place to wait out the traffic and flooding (I live 3 miles W of her office) she got on Rancho, with a ton of traffic, gazzillions of gallons of flash flood waters, and had the engine compartment of her car flooded due to pickup drivers blazing down the road creating HUGE wakes. I think they totaled her car - thank God it wasn't an F-Body.
