Released 2 days ago from the same youtuber regarding our A10's

Now the issue affects 2024 and 2025 Ford F-150's with A-10's apparently have the same A-10 we have.

Not just GM that is woefully under estimating this issue, but apparently Ford is as well.

Nate from NextGen Drivetrain = Shots fired @ Ford

Would love for him to do the same with GM.

For Clarification: Nate from Next Gen explains the difference in problems between the valve bodies between Ford and GM.

just got my car back from the dealer, dont truly feel many differences.. I think I feel the car a bit jumpy at low gears... I'm not sure if my ECM FBO tune is trying to work with the updated TCM.

I'd love to see your tune file, so I can compare it to my tune file see what changes they actually made to the transmission.

It would also tell both of us if any of those changes changes the TCM tune to the extent of messing with a custom TCM tune. I suspect if it does, than it will break the trans tuning some of us use and we should NOT get this update. That jumpiness you notice in lower gears can be attributed to a change in torque management values.

The reason I'm curious here is because recently my tuner adjusted my torque management values and I'm wondering if that is a symptom of this valve body issue. If there is a loss in pressure on my trans, then it might explain his need to readjust my torque management values.

I would send it to you if I had a HPtuner 🫠.. I thought TCM tune parameters can’t be seen but I could be wrong Maybe someone else in here can share a tune file with you

Erasing the previous tune, and uploading our own.

Thus no software lock out.

Or at the very least we have to have our cars retuned to be inclusive of the software lockout.
I have a 2021 a10 with the recall an Im tuned by Trifecta which supposedly tunes the TCM also. Now Im worried an questioning if I should still take it in or the recall update lol

When you say "supposedly" you mean, you don't know what they tuned on your car or what you paid for?

I guess it was only for the 10L90 trans which I think comes with the ZL1 not the LT1 & I say supposedly because its a controversial topic wether Trifecta can actually tune the TCM without sending it in to unlock.

So good of GM to refuse responsibility their defective part causes to the transmission.

Also noting that I have GM recorded on a phone call refusing to do the recall at all on my vehicle.

You are not alone, I'm using a custom tune myself, I do not want this update.

I really need to see someone's tune file so I can see what exactly is changed in the TCM.

If a stock tune file would work, I can upload my stock tune on Thursday. Had both recall and BCM enhancement done last month

Kewl, I'll take a look and if I'm to dumb too figure it out I'm sure one of the pros like Megahurtz or King might be able to figure it out.

Only thing I'll be looking at is the TCM side of things, and ignoring the ECM entirely.

It would be easiser if someone could provide a stock Tune file that doesn't need the TCM update, be a lot easier to decipher things.

I'll check if I still have my stock tune file I think I do.

Performance Update: Valve Body Upgrade Kit Results

After 2,000 miles of testing, here's the review of the valve body upgrade kit that addresses more than just the standard valve wear issues identified by GM.

Performance Results:
  • Shifts are consistently firm and reliable across all driving modes, including Sport mode
  • Manual shifting using both paddle shifters and the gear selector delivers excellent performance
  • Roll racing shifts are smooth and dependable
Final Recommendation: This will be my final update on this topic - simply put, install the kit.
I've already shared detailed instructions demonstrating how straightforward the installation process is.

The only item preventing me from also upgrading to the enhanced torque converter is the current unfavorable USD/CAD exchange rate (thanks to poor economic management by Canadian leadership).

Bottom Line:
  • No issues to report
  • No need for GM TCM tuning or other tuners
  • Just install the upgrade and get back to enjoying your drive

I appreciate and understand we have many opinions on the issue
  • Keep your warranty for 15 years to have GM replace a worn valve but not a damaged transmission
  • Tuning a transmission is important to many people but tuning voids a warranty
  • Why should the consumer install the upgrade kit and void the warranty
  • We've learned the warranty is valuable until you need it

I must also say that CMP Chevrolet Calgary has been extremely good to me.

Thanks for your update Roddrz, do you still plan for a DIY update. I plan to do this mod myself also and read your thread a dozen times to prepare. Thanks for your contribution.
