It's definitely a headturner, especially the red hot makes it look even better! It's the best car I've driven in my life. I loved my SS, it was a fantastic car and coming from the Mustang world where me and my buddies were used to spend countless hours at the dealership fixing issues, the SS run flowless for two consecutive years. The guy I sold it to is thrilled with the car. The ZL1 is in a different level though, it's a different beast. I think it's one of just a handful here in the UK (I don't think there are more than 5 in the country). There aren't even many in Europe either - do you know that the ZL1 1LE is illegal in Europe?

I love this car and I truly believe that the Camaro is on a different overall level compared to the Mustang - no matter which models you want to compare. It's more of a car - actually it's more of a muscle car - on every aspect: performance wise, handling wise, quality wise, engine wise, everything. And you only realise that after you drive (actually when you own) one. I wouldn't even trade my ZL1 for a GT500, after reading all these stories of GT350s exploding and now this seems to happen to the GT500 as well. A friend of mine bought a slightly used GT350 almost the same day I bought the Z and his engine boomed within a month - I mean the whole block is completely destroyed and he is now looking for a new one... Within a month of ownership... You constantly hear all these horror stories about the Mustang: EcoBooms, GT350 (and now GT500) engines failing, the infamous engine tick on the GT, handling issues (insert crowd here stories)... I am sorry, but I prefer to own a car that performs, handles and looks better and not being guided by marketing.

The only thing that I give to the Mustang is the aggressive marketing that brought it to overselling the Camaro and the Challenger. But again, I prefer to own a car that is unique, than diving a car that you can see almost everywhere.

They both have their issues. Let us not forget the A8 debacle or better yet the oil pump failures on both the Lt4 and Lt1.

By the way, I loved the A8, probably more than the A10. After 2 years of ownership, I had no issues at all. The Mustang has issues even with the A10! Jesus!

Don't be blind with fanboyism. Some of those oil pump failures costed people entire engines. The A8 debacle ended up costing people torque converters and for some new transmissions. There is also the half shaft issues and the valve springs not being properly treated and blowing motors too. Point is they all have their problems none really worse than the others. This goes for Dodge too because of their cars eating up camshafts.

The funny thing is that the oil pump failures apparently bothered you because you were looking for parts numbers in that thread just in case something was to happen.

water leaks
driveline vibrations
clunky shite chinese gearboxs exploding.
hood flutter
hood corrosion
evap core nightmare meaning complete removal of the dash board.
typewritter tick.

mine had driveline vibration and terrible thuds from the driveline. also could never keep the pos thing straight on the motorway..wandering all over the place. wouldn't dare go over 90 mph due to that hood flutter and instabilty.. how anyone can drive one of those things safely over 90 mph is beyond me

It will bother me if it happens and I hope it won't. It never hurt anyone being prepared for the unexpected.

correct the issue part of the mustang forum is very busy.
only an utter moron would buy that junk after reading so many horror stories.
that evap core alone is enough for me.
my A8 is awesome btw. shifts beautiful and the pops on the upshifts are incredible

Glad you brought up water leaks as that's also an issue on the Caamro. Take a look at some of the trunk leaks frying people's fuse boxes. We don't have the typewriter tick but we do get the lovely AFM lifters that are prone to failure. They all have faults its just what happens with mass produced vehicles.

once all this over the top mach 1 madness calms down the issues will start popping up.
history always repeats itself.
when something is no longer the catch of the day then folk get bored and move onto the next so called greatest thing going.
this this will just go down as another junk ford.
