I was a broke teenager but put everything I could into that 67. Built the 327 into the corvette 350 hp specs (except for a 4 bolt main), with 2.02 heads, 11:1, OEM 350hp cam, Holley, etc. Found a 12 bolt 3:55 and backed it up with a Turbo 400. Found a SS hood (the two four-port style), added the OEM spoiler and painted it OEM Bolero red (it’s original color anyway) with black rally stripes. Red interior. Had a set of classic American racing style wheels with F60’s up front and G50’s in back. This was when everyone was doing skinnies up front and jacked-up rear ends. I guess I was ahead of my time cause I liked the wide all way around with stock ride height look! Never lost a race in front of my HS which conveniently had almost a 1/4 mile from a light in front of it! Spent every weekend cruising Woodward!

Anyway, life and stuff moved on and I sold it (never should have, but you know, broke guy in his 20’s at some point!). Now I’m in my late 50’s and can justify a toy. Drove a gen6 basic box rental vert in Florida a few years ago and was amazed at the stiffness for a vert. Started looking at ZL1s about 6 months ago as I always wanted a 69, but those are out of reach today! Wife didn’t even want me to get a Camaro, let alone 50k+ for a used ZL, but I finally got her to relent and let me get an SS! Started looking at red with the adrenaline seats, but I won’t print here what my wife thought about that, so I settled for my other favorite color, blue. Found my 16 2SS in November, with 1880 original miles on it and got it for a great price! Now I’m waiting for May so I can actually drive it!
Congratulations...hopefully I get to see you riding around fellow michigander

Because I'm actually in love with the C7 Grand Sport, but because I didn't want the C7 GS payment (or insurance)

I drove the 1SS 1LE once and was infatuated with it, the handling, the styling the stance. I've always been a GM kind of guy and even though the C7 really is the apple of my eye, the Camaro since 2016 had always been creeping in the background because it looked so good with the refresh. I settled for the Gen6 and have been in love with it. Just need to put the front lip extension on when the weather cooperates and it'll be back to OEM 1LE with the front splitter.

I was 24 when I bought my first Camaro, a new 1982 Z28 305 Qjet/4 speed with no options. Then in 1987 I bought a new 1987 IROC Z28 TPI 5 speed loaded with options that over 11 years had 3 motors put in. Then when the 1998 Camaro SS with refreshed front end came out I bought one that had the LS1 6 speed that I modded with a lot of SLP performance parts! Of course when the 5th gen was out, I bought a new 2010 2SS with the LS3 6 speed that I really liked that I modded with mainly SLP parts including headers and loudmouth 2 exhaust system. I thought I would hang on to the 2010 but when I saw that new white 2016 2SS on the dealer lot I knew I had to have it. One test drive with the LT1 6 speed and it was a must have. And my latest and best Camaro since my first one in 1982 I bought slightly used back last March is the 2017 ZL1 and definitely a keeper for sure with no modding planned! I haven’t had that many Camaros like some folks here but consider myself a Camaro enthusiast and finally got a Camaro I wanted to own!

Last sports car I had was.1987 mustang gt. Almost 30 years ago, and I felt it was time for another. My car is the best one I could afford and I plan to keep it for 20 years or so.

I was 19 when I was able to buy my first car, it was a 1977 camaro nicknamed “the poop mobile “ by my friends because of the combination of brown paint and rust. But it was fast and fun. I then got an 84 trans am, loved knight rider , then found a beautiful blue 1989 iroc z that I wish I still had. I then got a 1994 z28, traded it in for my 2002 Z28 that I still own.
In 2017 when Chevy announced the 1le, I thought that would be my next car and last year I found the perfect combination for me of a 2ss 1le hyper blue metallic car and I’m enjoying driving a manual again.

well I started out with a 74 camaro, then got a 83 z28 after I joined the Navy, had a 79 type LT and a 68Z28. then I got my 2001 Z28, it was so awesome. the LS motor was just intriguing to me as it responded so well to mods. that car was the 2nd fastest Bolton 6 speed car and then I did motor work to ti and went 10.70 in the 1/4 mile. fast forward 10 years and the kids are getting older and im retired from the Navy and have a very good job. I had built a regular can Silverado that ran 12:001 the last time at the track and I still wanted a newer camaro. so I sold the truck and I bought a new 19 2 SS Camaro and I love it. I love the way it drives. rides and handles. ive had it at the track and went 12:11 so far. not fast enough for me yet. and fill like I should have bought a ZL1 sometimes. but ill get this car where I want it. lol

I'd bever been a huge fan of the 5th gen camaro. The sytyling just wasn't quite what I liked. Then my room mate was on a reality TV series for terrible drivers. They used a 2017 camaro on the show which him and the other driver's absolutely trashed. It was the first time I'd seen the 6th Gen and liked the improved appearance a lot. Went to a dealer, sat in one and fell in love with the adrenaline red ineterior. Spent the next year saving and going through the car configurator on the Chevy website before finally making the purchase.

I too had a beautiful blue 89 IROC-Z that I wish I still had. My 2017 HyperBlue brings back memories of that IROC. Sadly we still can no longer option them with T-Tops.

Haha. That track they use wasn’t far from my old house. They would drive those cars right past my house. After watching a bunch of those episodes I recognized the license plates. They were always CWD (Canada’s Worst Driver).
I always wanted to put a sign out front to stay off our road. Lol
I can’t believe our system allows drivers like them to get a license. ****ing ridiculous.

Thumbs up

I grew up working in my Dad's body shop, always was a car guy but just never had "the" car I wanted... Was always a huge fan of the 1970 Olds 442 W30, but compared to modern muscle they really weren't that fast nor very good handling... My brother has had 3 different Vette's (1996, 2008 & 2016) as well as a 2011 Yellow Camaro SS with the RS package (I guess today's "2SS"). The Camaro was my favorite of them all and I have wanted one since... Finally got to a point in life where I could justify some "irresponsible disposable income" and looked at the 2019 but didn't like the front end of the 2019 SS and knew the 2020 was coming with a facelift (and some cool options like the rear view mirror camera)... The color was my hardest decision, go bold or go classy... I love the Shadow Gray Metallic but almost went with Satin Steel Metallic, Riverside Blue (If they still had Hyper Blue I probably would have done that), Red Hot and Garnet Red Tintcoat but also strongly considered Rally Green but didn't get to see one in person before ordering... 2 days ago I started seriously reconsidering my color decision and starting to think I should have done Rally Green for the uniqueness of it, but after seeing my Shadow Gray Metallic 2SS today at delivery, I knew it was the color for me, I absolutely love it! Classy and Sporty...

That’s awesome , and the same reason I like the hyper blue , has that hint the blue iroc z color. And I love the t tops on my 02, the 6th gen would have been perfect with a targa top

Always been into Trans-Am and Camaros since 60's. Since Pontiac went away now don't have to choose one over the other.
