sound preference will change as cars change. The v8 american sound isn't preferred in europe, south east asia like it is here. The preferred sound of a high performance car will evolve as the high performance car evolves - even in the US.

Not talking about those 'enlighten' countries. No evolution to a whirr over a high lift cam for me. And many, many others I know.

V8 all the way!! I test drove a 2017 2SS on Saturday and I am picking it up on Monday. It is soooooooo much better than the V6 I had in my 2011.
I CANNOT WAIT TO GET IT!!

lol I don't need your acceptance to enjoy my car. I'm not worried about the size of my wiener and don't go parading around town pretending I'm a race car driver. Newsflash, your car isn't a race car either, it goes ONE AND A HALF SECONDS faster down a track. The reality is you just look like a total DB coming online to inform people you're an idiot and don't agree with their life choices. Maybe you should have bought a ZL1 that way you didn't have to be a middle of the pack camaro. I mean, who would buy an SS if they are worried about extreme performance? |

That's awesome you're getting that but just a heads up the V6 in the new one is so much better than your 2011 as well like a full second faster zero to 60 times

You seem to think that everyone wants 455 HP to blast through the streets with or that they want to mod every car that they buy and that isn't always the case. There are alot of people who will be content with 330ish (I cant remember the exact LGX numbers) HP in a fully loaded car. The price difference between a fully loaded V6 and a fully loaded V8 (model for model) is about $10k... Comparing a 2LT to a 1SS is moot, they're engineered for two different crowds..Someone who wants to thrash their car down the track isn't going to consider a 2LT, but someone who wants more creature comforts while commuting just may love the 2LT even over the 1SS as the motor does provide more than sufficient power for DAILY DRIVING. Also it's much cheaper to insure (The SS costs more, thus will be more expensive to insure as they have to recoop that incase of a total loss), uses regular - I don't know where you are from, but the price difference between regular unleaded and premium unleaded in most of the Southeast is more than $0.60, where as in the Pacific coast (or atleast the last time I've been) its about $0.30.. Yes...the SS is fun as **** to drive.. but not everyone needs a balls to the wall high performance machine. The V6 is a FUN car, it's not a FAST car, it's not a SLOW car either.. it's designed for those who want a reliable and fun commute and for the crowd that doesn't care too much about competition and probably not so much in modding. I personally wouldn't do more than intake and exhaust ..I'm not expecting 400 HP out of my V6..unless I go F.I. which I'm not doing..I'll go SS before I do that..but I have no fever to mod it. Another thing, you failed to answer my previous post..the cars that you mentioned against the V6 were severely over-rated, 2 of them were far more costly than the prices you noted, 1 of them barely even exists in the United States... |

That I will agree especially if you're going to throw an exhaust on it I used to have the SLP loudmouth 2 on my LS1 Camaro it sounded ridiculously fantastic I will say the NPP sounds fantastic on the V6 6 gen but nowhere near as good as the SLP you're going to enjoy your new car bro

Nope, that's definitely a V8 win but my V6 with my flowmaster sounds pretty GD good to my ears. If the V8 was the price of the V6 I'd take the V8 but it isn't and it's not something I need in my life. I have a house, an upcoming wedding in Hawaii, 6 weeks in Italy and a ton of other things to budget for. Someday I'll buy a V8 and it will be a ZL1 and I'll drive it 2 days a week for 5 months out of the year and I'll still drive the speed limit and it will never see a track.

I have lower spec 1ss and would not switch to a 2ss. There is nothing there performance wide that justifies the difference.
