Sounds like a no-brainer them TB & Intake. Assume no warranty issues since not tuning car.

Curious why Chevy did not do this from factory for the ZL1, considering your gaining better drivability and performance with no negative side effects.

Thanks for the feedback. I Think it will be a nice addition in time for fall. Most likely my only mod til I pay off the car.

Can anyone else chime in if these are new TBs that are ported and not used or reconditioned?

Mine looked pretty damn new. I think you'd have to ask Tony to find out for sure.

They're new, because he had trouble getting them for a bit due to them being on national backorder (GM switched the part number or something).

Did you have the GM Tune installed with your GM CAI? I am on another thread where several folks are reporting negative performance with the GM CAI, and I think I am one of them. Curious to see if when the Throttle body is installed it makes a difference. My throttle body from Mamo should be coming next week, but I am considering removing the GM CAI and having the dealer remove the tuned portion.

I had the GM CAI and tune on for about 100 miles before I put the PTB on. I am watching that thread too. Car's at the dealer right now for gas door alignment, diff fluid flush and clicking from column. On the way there I did a "pull" and something wasn't right, seemed to stay in gear longer than expected.

What GM CAI and Tune are you referring to? I haven't seen it yet. I just gave Tony my info today for a TB.

It's from GM, seems to be exact copy of the Cold Air Inductions version, and comes with a tune. AKA GMPP CAI.

Is the tune similar to the 100 octane tune they offer for the ZO6 guys?

No, as far as we know it only changes MAF tables and at this time I wouldn't recommend it.

ok, thanks for the info!! I originally looked at the Roto CAI, but the dyno sheet provided didn't show any gains below 100mph, so for me i will wait on that, but will do the TB for now.

Sorry, I didn't realize you had a ZL1. It's not available for the ZL1.
