I went to pick mine up this morning and when they pulled it up there was a small surface scratch on the LT fender (I had them change the oil over to 5W-40 for track use) and they said they would take it out back to buff it out. That was a bummer because I keep my cars meticulous and do a walk around with the SA when I drop it off, that's how he knew they did it. So they get it back to buff it and when they move it there was a nice little puddle of bright red tranny fluid under it. So I have to leave it so they can figure out what went wrong. I get a call hours later and one of the lines wasn't tightened all the way. So I still don't have my car back. Grrrr.

Where is it? I was under there and couldn't see it. Is it drivers side or passenger? Towards the front or rear of the car? Thanks

Better off buffing it yourself then let a hack do it at the dealer.

I received my notice in the mail today. Scheduled appointment. Dealer stated item, if needed, is in stock. Addressing other warranty issues too, like worn paint on misaligned trunk and lower right corner panel. A couple of nightmare posts on here make me cringe. I hope all goes well.

Update- dealer seemed anxious to address issue. Loaner car ready when I got there. Parts in stock, if needed, and should have back tomorrow in the PM.

Yeah I got it back and it looks terrible. I'll be buffing it again as soon as I get home.

Can anyone give me a quick tip on how to get to it best. I can put the car up on ramps and slide under. Should I slide under on the drivers side towards the front, middle or rear? I was under there the other day. Saw transmission lines but couldn't locate the bolt. Got a little claustrophobic and got out of there. Don't want to go to the dealer.

Driver side middle / front. It's close to the crossmember. I went under car on ramps with my head toward the front of the car. Smart not to go to the dealer.

Did they ever find and fix your rattle problem they created? I have this rattle noise as well, maybe it's a exhaust leak , it's annoying and it rattles when a accelerate, I may just buy some ramps and look into myself, I will not bring my car back to the dealership unless it's a major recall.

Hey folks, I did this recall myself as mentioned (trimmed the bolt as it wasn't close to touching the line). I recently was at the dealer and had them check the work to make sure nothing else was required and to document the recall had been performed.

The service advisor told me out of 30 cars they had done this work to, not a single one needed the lines replaced. They only replaced the line IF the bolt had made contact and so far none had done so. Now this is the same dealer that shorted me 1.5 qts of oil on an oil change, so take that with a grain of salt, just posting what was told.

Some of you guys just blindly letting the dealer swap these lines out and risking more problems, like we're seeing posted, may wanna just check themselves before they allow the work to be done beyond trimming the bolt which is a benign process.

I use my car on the track and the last thing I want is for GM to have any reason to deny a warranty claim, especially when it comes to a tranny line recall if I have a tranny issue. That's the only reason I brought mine in and let them change it out. They looked mine up and said that certain VIN's needed to have the line replaced even if it wasn't hit by the stud yet and mine was one of them. I know they replaced it because when I got it back they didn't tighten it all the way and it leaked out.

That's how I read the SB as well, replace the line on certain VINs no matter what, so like I said take what the dealer told me with a grain of salt. Not sure why else it would need to be replaced, so who knows

Yes they did finally fix the rattle (1 week and quite a few miles later). I think the wheel well liner needed to be tightened. They actually messed up the rocker alignment on my driver door when fixing it, but I'll have another dealer fix that. Dealer near me is pretty sloppy.... I'd do everything you can to try to pinpoint where the rattle is before handing it to them. Good luck! PM me if you need more info.

Ok thanks, as soon as I get chance I will look over things, I really do not want to bring my car back to the dealership again for them to cause any more issues
