It's probably brought up because the GT350 has an extra 66hp (compared to the '18 GT) that doesn't seem to be giving it a significant acceleration advantage.

The GT350's power band is considerably different, and is more suited to high RPM as found on tracks with long sweepers and straights.

This really isn't anything new. It's not just about raw numbers, it's about where the numbers are, how they come on and what the gearing is suited towards.

If that's a new concept to some people then I suggest they educate themselves further because obviously they're lacking.

I don’t understand. I own a 350 as well as a SS. The 350 was built for the track, not for a drag strip it’s A TRACK car not a straight line car. It’s powerband is much better suited for a track environment so why are we comparing it to a 18 GT which is essentially built for something completely different?

Without getting into a long drawn out debate all over again suffice to say I think the GT will fall somewhere behind the Shelby and also a little slower than the SS in the quarter mile when it is tested. I think it'll be nowhere close to either of them on a track. But I do think it'll be much improved over the 15-17s. I say they'll be somewhere in the mid 12s and some of them will be in the high 12s. Whereas the 15-17s tested in the high 12s and some of them in the low 13s. This is what I think it'll do. If it does better then so be it. But I will remain doubtful until I see it actually tested.

No. Unfortunately that looks like a CTS-V vs Mercedes comparison. I think the GT vs SS one will be released in January.

We're not all fanboys, some of think for ourselves. I drove a 1LE Saturday, I loved it, except for the engine, felt like a pickup engine. If the dealer would have given me a fair deal, I would have traded. It needs heads and cam though.

If that's a pick up engine, your 15 GT must feel like a Vespa motor.

Lol!! Sure, one that keeps pulling to 8,000 rpm. Coyote needs headers and a gt350 manifold!! There, feel better now?

So, anything that doesn't rev to 8000 is a pickup engine. I read that in car and driver which is where you got it from I'm guessing.

Really? Cool! Nope, I didn't read it in car and driver, I felt it when I drove it. If you like it, that's cool, enjoy it. I'd need heads and cam to get it to feel like I would like it to feel.

I loved the car, the seating position, the high beltline everybody complains about, I liked it, felt like I was sitting in the car, instead of on it. But, I've owned a few f body cars, so I guess I feel at home in the new camaro. Only thing I didn't like was the powerband compared to my modded coyote. Nothing is perfect, there is always room for improvement.

I actually agree. If it weren't for the LT1/LT4, I'd own a GS or Z06 right now.

I've had thoughts of C6Z, with heads and cam of course. Not sure where my border collie would sit though.
