What about the other GM vehicles that uses the same type of key? Why aren't they include in recall?

I think the people behind this recall are morons. Please tell me how separating the key and the fob is a safety benefit when the "recall solution" is to have something else dangling from an already ridiculously low ignition switch location. I'm a tall dude and for exactly this reason, I do not have anything attached to my Camaro key because anything hanging off of it will come into contact with my knee and/or leg.

Clearly, we've learned absolutely nothing from the Cobalt lawsuits and recalls.

Way to go, GM. WAY TO GO.

Hey Nate33,

I can imagine how shocking that must have been. I apologize that you experienced this and I am happy that you are okay. If there is anything we can answer for you, feel free to send us a PM with your full contact info and VIN.

What are those metallic things hanging from your key fob? Extra Keys?

Just kidding.

I hate having anything gingling or dangling so I personally choose to keep my car key separate from the house key but to each their own.

Unless GM comes up with something much cooler (which isn't going to happen) I'll pass on this recall.

I'll be keeping mine. Separating the fob and the key will cause the dangling fob to come into contact with my knee and/or leg, absolutely decreasing safety. I use the fob attached to nothing else with my current key for exactly this reason.

Barra needs to grow a pair and really think this one through.

Never an issue for me.....I don't drive with the steering column up to my lap anyways....Plus I hate bulky keys....I'm gonna ignore this recall.

I'm not a fan of this & don't plan to switch...

BUT, the only sliver of silver lining is that if I switch fobs, maybe I'd stop inadvertently popping my trunk!

If they ignore it the media would jump all over them. It probably doesn't solve anything but it makes it look like they tried to address the problem.

If my knees are near my ignition, it is likely the car is upside down and I have other problems than worrying if I hit the key just "right" to turn the engine off. Nothing dangles off my keys nor is remotely near me as a semi-tall dude at 6'0".

My current key design is very suitable for my needs as my Camaro isn't my daily driver, I need something small and compact so that I can carry another set of keys. Hope they don't go back to the design of my 2006 G6, those things are a POS and I had to mod them to work properly after a couple years.
