It was awesome and the car mags were going nuts, it had a whopping 215 Hp (305). It was the genesis of the return to beauty and the future of performance. The ‘69 Vette and Z28 were always my favorite cars growing up. Thinking about how many different motors I built for that car (7) just get to 500 hp in 1990. It’s been an incredible ride that most can’t grasp because they never lived through the garbage years….
I lived through those years and more, my first Camaro was a 1982 Camaro Z28 with 305ci 145hp 4bbl carb, my second was a 1983 Camaro Z28 with 305ci 165hp Cross-Fire injection, third was a 1987 IROC-Z 305ci 190hp TPI, fourth was a 1991 Z28 350ci 245hp TPI, fifth was a 1999 Camaro SS 350ci 320hp MPI.

It’s nuts just how much things have come around since then. I loved that car and it was awesome but I spent more on motors and transmissions than buying a Vette at the time. You sure traded up quite a bit for a few years there. Did the 350 1991 live up to your expectations? The quickest car of that generation was the 1989 Turbo Trans Am. I remember racing one on the street and being surprised how well it hung for a bit.

There was a new (pre owned) 2023 ZLE manual with seven miles and all the interior still covered in plastics. It was listed at 97-98k on eBay. Was there for a day or so and is gone. I’m guessing it was sold at that price, can’t find it anywhere else.

A quick 20% profit right there.

If there's one car out of those that I miss the most, its the 1991 Z28. I still love the looks of that car today even if its not that quick anymore. Would have loved to have a 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo TA but those were very rare and expensive. My Dad had a 1987 Buick Grand National around the same time I had my 1987 IROC-Z so I got to drive it plenty and it was a lot of fun. I love those cars too and may try to find one in mint condition here in the next few years.

Just guessing as you said, but auctions come and go all the time on eBay. Sometimes they're fake sellers, sometimes auctions get taken down if they don't meet certain eBay requirements. If it were sold you should be able to search for it under sold listings.

Heritage Edition will typically hold its value a bit better. Shelby fanatics seem to love these special packages. That being said, I'm not certain BAT is the best source for car values since I don't think the audience is very large.

I tried to search it but nothing shows up, I’m guessing that’s why he listed his phone number. Lots of guys do that to avoid paying the eBay fees. Maybe someone here is better at this stuff than me, it was up yesterday. Very nice car, and unlike that bullshit ad for a ZLE at 125 K where the guy is claiming he might have the only ‘23 ZLE IN THE COUNTRY. My guess is if the strike happens you’re going to see a sudden surge in the market, actually I thinks it’s happening anyway but a strike will drive it home. The next month or so will be very telling.

Good thing he used the word “might”. I think the number for 2023’s was 442.

What’s crazy is how much cooler I thought the later interiors on those Camaro’s were compared to my ‘85. Now I look at those giant airbag steering wheels and all that cheesy bling and have a tough time with it. That said, man do I have great memories of those days. I think the eighties was to my generation, what the 50’s were to my parents. Lots of good times and a much more innocent era, at least in my neck of the woods.
