Just took delivery of my dream car last week! Only took me 2 years of saving and about 8 months worth of waiting on the order to finally come in but it’s finally mine! (Filthy I know) As I also own a detail shop on the side I made sure that the dealership didn’t wash or detail the car at all as I plan to ceramic coat it myself before driving it. So to add to my waiting game I literally took delivery of the car on the 1st, drove it to my shop to park it, then got shipped out of town for work on the 3rd until the 12th. And I won’t get a chance to coat it and enjoy the car till the weekend of the 17-19th….my patience is killing me but the snakes in my head know I need to protect this paint work the right way from the beginning and it’ll be worth it.

Congratulations! Welcome to the 1LE Club. You are going to love the car. Sorry you haven't been able to spend any time with it, but you have already had to wait a while. As the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

Thank you! Your definitely right, the wait will be worth it! And yes I’m in love with this color. My last Camaro was a 2012 Camaro RS in crystal red tintcoat so I had to continue the trend! Can’t wait to see that color pop when it’s properly detailed.

Don't forget PPF in front of the rear wheels. No mater how careful you drive the front tires will sand blast the rear quarters right in front of the rear tires.

And/or you can add rock guards. I suggest you do one or the other or both. I also added side skirts, which also helps in keeping rocks off the sides of the car.

I have ACS rock guards and side skirts on my 1LE. I actually installed the rock guards at the dealership before I made the 225 mile drive home. See page 115 of this thread for my pictures of both.

ZL1addons rock guards since new.
Between the Goodyears picking up everything you drive over and PA roads being partially paved in urban areas, my quarters are toast.

I did do my research ahead of time and ordered the ZL1 addons deluxe rock guards when I made my detail restock order for stuff for the car. But thanks for looking out for me guys! Trufan1le I’m actually from Breaux Bridge and that’s also where my detail shop is located. I currently work at Lafayette airport but used to work at BTR airport on the north side of Baton Rouge.

Nice color, and congrats!!

Don't forget the side skirts - they definitely reduce debris hitting your hind panels.

Ok, maybe we'll cross paths one day. Ever thought about going to the Cars and Coffee across from the Mercedes dealership first Saturday of the month. Is there one in the Lafayette area?

We have a cars and coffee once a month in Lafayette but it’s been a while since I’ve been to one. It’s pretty big and it’s put on by the Lafayette league of exceptional motoring. Who puts on the one in Baton Rouge?

I think it's by the owners of the MB dealership, but not sure. I go maybe every other month if I have time.

New Satin Steel Metallic 1LE 6-speed owner here. Ordered December 11 2021, car arrived at dealer on June 6, 2022, I took delivery on June 17, 2022.

I was told the car would be cancelled back in April and I would have to re-order in 2023, then somehow it was built in April 2022 and then took two months to ship. I had a Mustang GT base on order as well in eruption green incase the Camaro order was not fulfilled, however I am glad I took delivery.

Any tips for a new 1LE owner? ZL1addons rockguards? Should I PPF the front bumper? Break in procedures to follow?

Photos of actual car:

Thanks
