Why do we need the ZR1? The C7.R has already won it...

Looks like I'll be sleeping for a while.
Not to mention the ZL1 1LE isn't that much slower than it...and it still outweighs the GT by like...600lbs...

To be fair, the GT actually weighs 3,350ish.. McLaren killed Ford on engine, weight, fuel economy, etc.. Lel.. All for less money.

Bringing up Le Mans is idiotic.. Since when are those cars the same as the ones on the dealership floors?

Ford GT should outperform the ZR1 even though it's down 100 horsepower. If it repeatedly doesn't, it's kind of sad.

The corvette has done great at LeMans, so have no clue why you think the zr1 won’t? the only reason the GT came in 2nd last year as the Vette blew a tire on last lap. So if that is the only reason why the GT was built, it’s not doing well against the Vette being a front engine much cheaper car.

Saw the Le Mans GT on display at the student competition shown in my sig pic back in May, it literally had wood floors. When we asked why, a nearby engineer shrugged and said "Its lighter". Ford ended up bringing 3 production GTs over the week we were there, in addition to the Le Mans one. Pretty cool to get to sit in!

Sorry I didn't get any close pictures. Here is one from farther away from the internet, with the GT I am sitting in in the attached picture in the foreground with the Le Mans behind.

So should it be sad then for all the high dollar cars the ZR1 outperforms or just the GT because it's a Ford lol

To each their own. Weak is a bit strong I admit. Cylinders don't dictate performance, and for a V6 that thing performs DAMN well.

A $500,000 V6 though........HAHAHA freaking no thanks! Literally NEVER.

Are you talking about other high dollar cars that were built for one purpose only(LeMans apparently), or the sort of super car that offers comfort and quality like no other(Lambo, Aston Martin, Porsche, etc.)?

These threads are comical. Without fail they always become the battle field for the Chevy vs Ford keyboard warriors. Guess their wasn't much to discuss about the Mustang and SS 1LE once the review came out.

Throw them all out there, because the ZR1 is going to put a hurting on a lot of them performance wise.

And yes the GT was built so Ford could go racing in Le Mans. That is literally why they are building a street car version

Ford selling crack to the people who pay

This is why they don't compete with sports cars. Why do that when you can sell 90K SUVs? That's where the $$$ is to be made.

in the case of the GT well at least it uses a production drivetrain....the C7.R LOL

although the C7.R from the dealership does come with a nice decal package.

When I see that picture. It makes me sad. Just think how much money Ford put into it. Put a $400k price tag on it. Only to see A C7 with a LT5 and aero bits beat the shit out of it.
