  • Is idle stability / speed impacted at all?
  • The extent of the modification doesn't reach the hot (closed loop) idle region. It starts blending tangentially from cold idle (open loop) and out. You'll be able to idle at a target +/-30 rpm at any temperature and altitude, which is typical of the stock TB performance.

  • No, long term performance shows no changes in this regard. Seems like fuel follows airflow, and spark timing is the limiting tool the ECM uses to reduce torque. If torque limits for any given set of conditions are not exceeded, then, timing won't get on the way.

It only takes installing the stock TB back, to remind us.

  • Mee too. But we would not be able to countersink them. The head deformation comes from peening the screws at the other end. We locked them with high temp thread locking compound and then peened them. They are more like a riveted screw, not going anywhere.

Correct, but I'd think the burden of proof is on them. But I would not give them the chance to start that argument. I have never heard of anyone having problems b/c of one these, or the likes.

In summary, think of it as an OEM TB that came out of the line flowing near the maximum it was allowed in the design.

Nothing special, just ship to our address on label (also on our website). As long as we can see your name on label or any other entry that we can trace back to your order, you should be fine.

I received my SolerPerf TB in the mail yesterday morning - once I had the battery connected for a couple of hours I dug into putting the TB on and it took about 5 minutes (my car no longer has an airbag since I have a S/C on it).

I had tried a ported TB from my tuner earlier in the year and it improved on the part idle driving some, but nothing like the Soler. It works 100% as advertised - throttle is crisp like a well tuned carburetor (I have a bone stock 1988 Monte Carlo SS that has a electronic controlled QuadraJet on it, and though the car isn't fast, the throttle response is excellent - the Solar TB is probably 98% as good as it).

My car is a manual and with the factory dual mass flywheel the clutch can feel really "dead" when it starts engaging. Couple that with the factory TB setup (which feels like you are pushing a rope), it can be challenging to get consistent movement from a dead stop. I found myself using the RevMatch quite a bit so it was a little easier to live with when doing city driving (like rolling corners at stop signs, lights, etc....) because the throttle was so dead feeling at low throttle positions.

The Soler works so well for me that I don't need the RevMatch anymore and I am able to "blurp" the throttle during shifts with no issues at all. Its fun to drive a stock again

Hi! Will this work on 2.0 Turbo? Sorry if it’s a lame question but I am not technical. Thanks!

Sorry, this P/N only fits the 6.2 V8's of the 6th generation. We are planning to expand through the GM lineup, slower than we wish, but we'll get there eventually.

Thanks for asking,

Looking for one for the 6th gen V6. Just looking for a little better throttle response. My 2013 V6 is much better with the VMAX ported TB..

Order placed. Sending my OEM throttle body in. Still had my OEM after purchasing the Tony Mamo unit. This will be another great comparison.
I was impressed with the TM. From what I have read and conversations with Mike this is the next level of improvement.

Anyone want to buy my Tony Mamo unit???

Keep me posted, If you want a test mule I might be down for that. It is my daily driver. My Current mods are airrade in intake with KN filter and a solo performance cat back with x pipe and J pipes.

Oh. I completely didn't realize you guys were that close to me. Maybe when I get back from this deployment I'll swing on by and check out your guys' place and pick up a throttle body.
