I have a hard time seeing Chevy rating the LT4 in the ZL1 less than 650 HP. Relative to the last GT500 (662) and Hellcat (707) it's already low. Its going to be a terror on the track and a match on the strip.

While horsepower is great for bragging rights it is definitely not everything. A balanced and light(er)weight platform is just as important - if not more so - especially for people who actually track their car.

A 640 HP ZL1 that weighs 600 lbs less than a 707 HP Hellcat will have a much better HP:Weight ratio and at the end of the day will dominate the hellcat with equal drivers.

Should be a very interesting day.

I agree completely, just funning with you a little. Personally I believe this next ZL1 or whatever they will call it, will be far better than what Ford and chevy both offered on those years. When the base SS is running times quicker than the gen5 ZL1 on the 1320 ,and it's also running faster times than the gen5 1LE at the track, how couldn't it be way better?
