I politely disagree. I would solely buy an automated manual is based on how it shifts with the paddles.
The reason I want automated manual is so that I don't have to use a clutch pedal, the shifts are faster, the shifts are perfect every time, and I also have launch control.
The ability to occasionally leave it in drive is just a plus.

And THIS is why I dread posting regarding this subject. That is why I am looking for a polite resolution and statement that we can all agree with as Camaro owners.
Everyone wanting a "paddle shifting experience" from the A8 needs to personally test the A8 and M6 before making their decision, especially those coming from a manual transmission and/or wanting a DCT experience when compared to a proper DCT/PDK.

If we were talking about a DCT yes, not a torque converter transmission I would agree. But that is not offered...

FYI, the manual SS has launch control. (The automatic may too?) But like any launch control, a good driver can beat it...

SInce, GM actually CLAIMS their A8 is better than a DCT, is SHOULD be the same. It's not. But, you get my point.

No one is beating PDK's launch control. It does 2.7 second to 60 on the street on a street tire.
But, yes, I drove both the A8 and M6 with launch control. And YES, I can beat the launch control.

I would like to see all three offered. A regular torque converter based automatic for those that just want to leave it in drive, a DCT that could be left in drive, and be okay for like limited use, but at the same time would have very good shift performance when manually shifted, and a traditional manual for those who always want to shift.

Plus, then all this back and forth of what's better and whose wanker is bigger wouldn't be necessary.

Sure you can, even magazine drivers have...it's good on the street, but on a sticker track a good driver can beat it. Been done countless times...

This is an A8 thread. Go start a AWD thread is that's what you want to talk about.
Do you even own a 2016 Camaro SS ????

I wasn't sure before it is absolutely the same person. The DCT, the AWD, the "how'd you order YOUR camaro!? I cannot be QUESTIONED by the likes of YOU!!"

Dude keeps popping up now and then and always always always with same posts and same style. It's pretty entertaining now.

Hi EvoShift! We look forward to your inevitable banning and future resurgence!

It's funny, I've been a mod on other forums for years now and folks like old EvoShift or LT1since93 or whatever he's calling himself now just never change. You'd think they'd be smart enough to change up their posting style, or forum info, or even the fact that they'll send you angry PM's whenever you call them out requesting that you email them instead (probably so they can spam your personal email), but nope, same MO every time. IP check isn't even necessary.

I've got 400 miles on my 2SS A8 in sport mode and wot the trans shifts fast using the paddles or lever. You wouldn't expect it to shift fast just driving @ half throttle . Nobody speed shifts a manual driving normal. You certainly don't power shift a manual transmission @ half throttle. I've been having fun on the on ramps and it's about the only place that's cop free.
The 1/4 mile time from GM states the A8 is faster then the manual in the 16 SS Camaro. On the road course the A8 in the corvette is faster. Multiply the faster shifts by the number of shifts on a 3 mile course and you see why it's faster plus you never miss a shift . The Z06 with the A8 was the hot ticket for the track untill heat issues in the trans were reported. Ive heard GM is aware and working on it. Kind of like the catch can the 16 Camaro LT1 has because of problems the C7 LT1 experienced. The Camaro benefits from the R&D Corvette and Cadillac does with previous models. Can't wait to see the ZL1 soon.

Don't forget the ATS-V too.
