You give them your car's VIN and they flash the stock TCM's calibration. Their 87a isn't totally "plug and play", because tune adjustments are absolutely required in the ECM in order for it to work correctly. There’s instructions listed on their invoice.

We basically have to figure out how to launch and run the car down low at WOT, uninterrupted and unnecessarily affected by conservative GM programming, while achieving a certain wheel spin, say, 5-10%. It's going to take a bunch of hits, which, for me, means it will continue next spring.

Anyone having issues getting this TCM up and going? The car throws a message to shift into PARK and basically disables itself. Shoot - I didn’t even start the car or shift OUT OF PARK, and get that message. Like - I can’t even unlock the trunk… I can’t even turn the ignition off. I have to disconnect the battery in order to shust the car OFF. I disabled the P2544.

Which part of my difficulties? LOL...
You have to attack that TCM by removing the facia. It's not that hard, but there are a thousand fasteners (use an battery powered tool - it makes it faster - just keep it on a low torque setting to not strip or break anything). I was more pissed that I pulled apart half the wheel well to determine I needed to pull the whole facia. Have a buddy help you remove and install it though so you don't scratch anything. There are LOTs of clips, too. There's the DRL-harness that you have to address, so mind that. It's not that big a deal. I'm just irritated it's not working and I have to wait with my car blown apart. The TCM-issue is just weird. I'm, frankly, pretty pissed about this. I was on the fence already, not really having much trust in it working, but my confidence is waning in this product, so I might push to return it and seek a refund. I specifically asked if I needed to follow HPTuners' procedure, in conjunction, but maybe I'm just confused or something. I wasn't told to use HPTuner's procedure, but maybe that was implied.... In case you want more detail:
I left the car like that until I hear back from HHP. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks to everyone. Chuck
