I was told that the bulletin stated to drain and fill dif, do 5 figure 8s. Do that whole process up to 5 times. If that didn't work, new dif.

It's on my paperwork at home, I'll put it here when I get off work if someone hasn't already

The second flush at the dealer seems to have eliminated the groan. Fingers crossed it stays that way

According to what they did to mine, it says "rear diff fluid needs to be drained and refilled per 17-na-287"

I took my 2016 in yesterday for the groan - they gave it back to me as no problem found. I provided them the GM documentation on the issue, but could not locate the TSB if there is one?
My issue presents when the temperature is low, so I can understand not being able to duplicate, but I would think the low cost of a fluid change would have been good customer service. The service writer was very dismissive and just told me I have plenty of warranty left, because my time is obviously worth nothing to them.

"Low cost" was $165 for me when I had my dealer change it, unrelated to the groan, at 1500 miles.

Mine started only in cold weather, never in warm weather. It progressed to where it did it when the car itself was not warmed up, even in 70 degree weather for the first few turns

I meant low cost for them - 2 quarts of gear oil is less than $30 to them, plus 20 minutes of time. Even at $165 it's low cost in my mind to take care of a customer who spent in excess of 40,000 on a vehicle. It's terrible customer service.

well they basically told me sorry about your luck and there is nothing we can do and nobody to escalate it to.
after the first two flushes making it worse and not only making a groan but now a grinding noise on right turns they tell me "its a characteristic of the vehicle."

that's a bullshit answer. I'd find another dealer.

This ^ is what i am afraid of... I had my entire diff changed late 2016 and it was quite until i took her out of storage this spring. They did a flush and it is worse. They are telling me i need to bring it back in for them to diagnose again. I hope they just skip all the BS and replace the rear diff and i don't get another groaner.

Well if they all do it I guess it is a characteristic....

Kidding

Mine does it and I'm not really worried about it any longer

My 2018 is doing it. Especially first drive of the day turning left, which is what I do every time I leave the house...
