if you move the fender out to match the rockers wouldn't that **** the fit up between the fender and door?

I don't think so if you only move the front part to the wheel. Very interested if it works. Keep my fingers crossed for you...

I've been wondering about that myself. It's been mentioned here that the ZL1 uses the same front fenders, but they've been moved or shimmed out. If that's the case, wouldn't it mean they wouldn't align with the doors?

Looks great! Please share the details of the installation and how you addressed the gap at the front.

So did you just cut off that one mounting tab? I am assuming that is what you are pointing at in the picture

Actual Cost: $1200 ... and worth every penny.

With a fresh set of painted ZL1 side rockers, we were set for a quick and easy install. Following the posted instructions, removing the existing rocker was easy. Getting the ZL1 rocker from a Camaro Coupe to fit on the Convertible was another story all together.

On first trial install, it became clear that there was a difference between Coupe and Convertible parts. To accommodate the Convertible's beefy side frames, we chopped height out of body mounts on the bottom edge of the rocker. Additional chunks in the front and back of the rocker base also had to be chopped out to accommodate the cross framing. The modified plastic was welded in place. Finishing the modification to the first rocker, we discovered the serial number for the convertible parts. doh!

With fit out of the way, we quickly learned that Chevy shipped the ZL1 rockers with pop-in-clips that were too small and lacked the necessary force to hold the rocker in place along the footboard. Luckily, we were able to salvage some clips from the original side rocker removal to pop the rocker in place.

To address the rocker underbite, we drilled a small 3/8" hole in the underbody support hidden behind the front fender guard. Leaving the 3 front clips out. Pushed the rocker in place, drilled the hole that holds the rocker from the wheel well, attaching a double zip tie to hold the rocker in place, replaced the fender guard and installed the plug.

With the correct parts, this would have been much easier. Irrespective of the additional effort, I really like the visual upgrade and extension of Chevrolet's design language as well as the double takes the car is getting on the highway.

If you are considering side skirts for your Camaro, I don't think there is anything else in the playbook that compares to this $1200 option.

I installed mine today and just did a write up on how to install them and fix the gap without using zip ties. You guys should check it out. Lots of pics

Am I the only one that notices that these make the car slightly harder to get out of? The first few times, I stepped on the rockers.

Has anyone bought the cheaper copy cat version by Ikon Motorsports? They are identical as far as rocker replacement, but wondered about the quality
