Thanks guys, a little communication goes along ways. I appreciate the efforts even if it’s not abundantly clear exactly what’s going on.

Website down again...May 27 AM
You know this shits gotta run outa someone’s basement server lol. We’re probably hitting a memory cap and need another 256 megabytes added on. Or some old magnetic database tape spilled off the reel all over the floor and had to be wound back on.

Seem many car forums are getting less and less traffic over the years.

Thanks mlee, and SSE 4 2SS for the info and feedback on this issue. I for one appreciate you guys trying to keep our forum clean and fun. Being in the international aircraft avionics industry for 25 years and having to deal with external programs and external servers and web domains for our daily jobs. I get it. Things happen and it affects us all. Keep up YOUR good work and hopefully the admin/owners can get the bugs worked out. Thanks guys..

Administrator to blame for down time
I've built and moderated websites in the past so I know what's involved in putting them up and keeping them up. Once a site is in place it runs best with as little moderation as possible. Sure you remove the occasional threats, extreme profanity, and links to porno sites, but otherwise you leave it alone to do it's thing.
That being said... It's pretty sad seeing that the administrator of this website has the time to move comments that question why this site is down so much off the main page. Why? Because it was discussed before? What a ridiculous waste of time! Now we know why this site's down so much...the administrator is too busy moving around legit posts. This site has been down so often that I've tried numerous times (when the site is working) to close my account and say the hell with it! Anyone know where the link to closing accounts is please let me know. I sure can't find it. If this keeps occurring I'm outta here! After all, what good is a "forum" site that's down and when it's up the administrator moves legit comments off the main page? In doing so know I know what this sites problem is...the administrator. I sure hope this web-site has more unannounced down time.
Hearing from all these experts is great entertainment, especially the ones that have just recently joined. FWIW I have yet to notice any posts that couldn't withstand a delay in showing up...lol |
