Haha dude, I was thinking the same thing! It looks pretty toasty over there right now. My interior has to be cooking big time! The thought of that kinda stresses me out...

I know it's not unheard of in the car world but I told my salesman to not wash it prior to delivery. He didn't seem phased but I kind of felt dumb asking. I may change my mind and let them do it. I don't like the idea of getting a new car that is dirty either haha.

My initial plan was to take it home and wash it, weather permitting, but I'll probably want to drive it.

Oh snap, that's right. I still need to tell my dealership that. A rinse is fine, but NO detailing or anything. JUST A RINSE. I read the horror stories over in the "Delivery Day Check List" thread and now I'm super worried about that also. Thanks for reminding me. I'll type up the email now and send it tomorrow. I'm just going to be honest with him and tell him everything I will be looking for and expecting, so that there is less room for surprises on delivery day. For the most part, I'll be copying and pasting that entire first post and sending it to him as a heads up.

It was toasty this weekend... Hottest one we've had so far! I think it hit 90 on Sunday.

Agreed, this part is the worst part of the wait I feel. Mine is just sitting there waiting to be shipped to Becky. I am at the mercy of the car hauler company.

I'm so jealous of you guys who live closer to the plant!!! Mine has been on a train for 5 days already and becky said it takes about 10 total to get to California! Not sure if that includes the one day it went from Lansing, MI to Charlotte, MI. But I've got another 5 days or so to wait until it even arrives at the rail yard in CA, then it needs to get on a truck to the dealer!!!! I may have to activate onstar! Has anyone done that? And is it satisfying or does it make you crazier???

The drivers often contact the receiving dealership while transporting to facilitate the delivery process. At some point today the dealer for Seawolf could have an approximate delivery hour.

When the Sonic first came out I tried to determine the cutoff used to determine if a build used rail during transportation and could not get a definitive answer. For example, a delivery to East St. Louis used rail while during the same time frame a delivery to Columbia, MO went by truck. Go figure.
