Classy way to do what I did, which was BFH the muffler into submission around that area! lol

Hard to tell due to the location of the resonator. Might work. Might not. This post has some of the best pics on these forums of the vert's bracing: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showp...76&postcount=8

Thanks @Sakudog! Appreciate you trying this out first for the rest of us. I actually did the BFH initially but my OCD wouldn't let me live with myself...so back to the shop for surgery it went.

I think it work on the vert. What about power? I was thinking going through the secondary cats to quite it down, but now I really like the sound clips. Maybe a toss up power wise between the 2 with about 700 wheel power wise?

927 WHP through the Magnaflow center muffler with no signs of excessive back pressure at all in my build…

Did you have to remove that black tunnel brace for this install?

I just finished doing similar mods - 2650R, 2" Kooks headers, both Cats removed, Kooks 3" full exhaust connected to AWE touring axle back exhaust and ... it's WAY too loud!

Fun yes, but not practical and will certainly exceed some track sound limits.

After reading this thread I bought the magnaflow 12469 muffler and I've been to 3 shops and none of them think they can make it work. They think it's too tight in the tunnel or will affect clearance. Two of them were also not keen on working on a car with no cats which could be part of it too.

I'm thinking of putting the OEM exhaust back (with valves) back in place hoping the suitcase muffler can take some of the noise down. On track, the valves will have to be open. I sure hope it'll put me under the limits else I'm not sure what to do.

valve open will be just as loud. Its just basically a straight pipe out with the valves open. Been their done that. I put 2 vibraint 1142s on mine. Still pretty loud wide open but somehow not so bad. Guess it just sounds better.

My exhaust shop said the same thing when I wanted it installed, after they started on it, they realized it will fit. Its a tight fit but it fits without any issues. I think most exhaust shops don't want to do it because there's not much clearance so it takes a fair bit of time to do all the welding properly.

Hey! So did your power numbers improve?

I’m going the same route… made great power with the stock exhaust but wanting a bit more and have some ARH 2” headers getting Cerakoted, high flow cats that are getting surgically gutted so they look legalish and and this magnaflow muffler. To hell with the Smog nazis! Hopefully the pics on here from folks that have done it will be enough for them to try as well.

I'm currently working with Ted to get tuned after all my changes. Currently at round one of tuning so a few iterations to go and then I'll put it back on the dyno and see where it lands, hoping for over 800.
