I agree, the 1k rwhp dyno sheet would be awesome to have but im sure its a cluster f on the street. With 17 drag radials and 7XX wheel, mine was a handful. Not sure a 15in conversion would help enough to keep things in between the lines with 200 more wheel.

BUT if youre fancy like parish, you can do boost my gear / driveshaft speed vs wheel speed and ramp in that 1k wheel if things are under control.

it is all dyno queen smoke and mirrors. That said it does take some work to get there. Heck my lifter failed taking the cam out... a mere couple of hundred miles before I intended to take the engine out! Just luck. I was 99.9% sure a piston would fail first. I'm going for way more duration and way less lift... sure it will leave some HP on the table but I want 100,000 k miles with maybe new valve springs at 50 K

What's this 100K BS, Oldman?!? You know you won't be able to stay out of your motor for that long, regardless of whether or not anything fails lol!

After 46 years of marriage my wife knows the cost of this sport. As long as her beer cooler is full she doesn't really care. Right Jim? HaHa

I got one of them trophy wives... they are like European sports cars... I'd trade her in on a Chevy type, but the resale is horrendous... like 1/2 my stuff. Blues Bros:

I have my pistons out, they are all in top shape, I will measure OEM ring gap just for grins.

I think my wife has it pretty well figured out too, Greg! I do keep the dedicated beer fridge on the screen porch full at all times!

checked the ring gap on the 1st and 2nd compression rings on all pistons they spec between .010 and .011. Either I'm lucky or it is a myth of tight end gaps as low as .005. I am NOT saying .010 is a good gap for supercharged engines.

My pistons look great BTW..

How much power have you been making on the stock ones?

don't know... but clearly not enough to kill the piston... I will say I have always had enough fuel and good tuners. I would say between 1000 to 2000 runs through the gears... 3 complete sets of tires, starting on my 4th set at 18,000 miles. I don't "burn out" BTW... they are getting shredded at speed.

That's good to hear they held up like that, gives me high hopes.

yep it was my cam/lifter combo that failed... Now I have a gentle ramp sub .600 cam and Johnson lifters (very good)... I don't know what will fail next if anything, probably a valve... Maybe a good time to upgrade the valves? humm

Yeah your experience is why I am changing out lifters when I forge the bottom end.
