I met a woman in 1988. I really liked her (we worked together), but she had a boyfriend. We both moved on with life, and she broke up with that boyfriend and married someone in 1990. In 2007, I found out that one of my coworkers (I've had the job since 2005) was this woman's cousin. She was still married. In 2013, she emailed me, telling me her husband had left her.
We have been together ever since (well, except for a few "issues", that are mostly resolved).
