Seems counter intuitive to me. The other suggested studs seem to have even longer bullet like (unthreaded) ends...Anyhow, hope RUQWKR will clarify his post. Thanks! |

Like the OEM studs, the bullet nose helps with getting the lug straight before engaging the first thread. However, I would hope all of us finger starts the lug nuts enough to ensure no cross-threading. I have ARP's up front with the bullet nose cut off as a just in case I run a wheel / spacer combo and wanted to run the stock style closed lug nuts. I've only been running stock SS / ZL1 1LE 20" / 19" wheels, so, I have not needed the extra threads on the ARP's. I cut the noses off before installing the studs back when I swapped to J6H / ZL1 brakes and was going to have the SS 1LE rotor off the hub. FYI - I like the looks better with closed end lug nuts and don’t have thread engagement (amount of) issues [14mm or greater for my piece of mind], nor do I have a tech inspection need that some may have. Given Provoste's pace with 305/325 combo...this is a tempting option, albeit 305 22et does present its own merits. Hmmm.... |

Correct - just normal grinding. 315/30/19 Hoosiers fit as well up front on 19x11 +11 OEM rims with no spacers.

Speaking of studs, L to R, an ARP next to stock, MSI on the right and a PTC on the bottom. The PTC is made for a F-250 etc, so it's a probably not going to be used by me.

Also, as you can see from the stock stud that was used with a stock wheel, there were 9 threads engaged or just below 14mm engagement which is the minimum I shoot for, but, lots of opinions on that. |

Beware buying lug nuts from Amazon. I bought Gorilla brand ones and when I opened the box it was obvious the plastic bag has been opened before and I could see rust dust. When I inspected the threads you could see rust on the threads. I checked to see if I could thread the ARP studs in and only 6 out of the 20 could be threaded all the way.

Test drive today with the Provoste 305 square setup with G3R tires. It does poke a little but makes it look even more race car
