The white stuff you see is a cleaner, typically in many car wax products (such as turtle wax). When you use a polish, it does not have a cleaner in it, so nothing to stain the rubber or glass. I never tape off my windshield or rubber parts and have had no issues with staining, but I do mine by hand. Maybe if you use a dual action or orbital you may want to tape it off.

I didn't want to start a whole new thread for this question so I hope its OK if I ask it here.
Basically I am wanting to pay someone to do a full detail on my car, it has lots of water spots mainly. I just want someone professional to get my car back to as close to "new" as possible. Then afterwards I try to learn to do it myself in the future. So what should I expect to pay? I found a local shop that has two packages. Mainly I just want to know if you guys thing the prices sound reasonable for what is done. Quote:

It's a lot of money for what he's doing. You can clean out your own door jams etc. etc. if you don't have any tools, all you need for him to do is "one step polish the car". Then you can wipe on Carpro Reload, it's As easy as using Windex. Here's a video on how to apply it.
https://youtu.be/PsAheg8Wtdk Then again I completely understand not want to screw with it at all if that's your desire. Both prices are acceptable, not great but acceptable, in my opinion. gloss coat is good stuff. |

Amateur question:
If 95% of the car is clean enough to only require a rinseless wash, but there are bugs on the front, what is the best way to remove them - maybe use a mitt with a non-rinseless agent prior to doing the rinseless to the rest??

I usually dab the bugs with a rinseless towel while washing if they are not too bad. The old dryer sheet trick works well too, before you wash.

Remove them first just use the Rinseless mix. Dampen them with towel but don't use your towels you will be using them for the Rinseless wash. I keep some Rinseless mix in a spray bottle for this.

Car looks great now. I have had it for 1 week. Drove it a few times.
Bought some supplies yesterday and looking to finish up ordering what I need to keep it looking good. It is a garage car and drove a few times a week for very low miles. When I do drive it, I want it looking great. I have ONR rinseless, microfiber towels, drying towels coming. I'm looking at getting Duragloss 951 and Carpro Reload. Sound good? Rinseless around once a week, the other 2 about every 2 months, 951 first then reload? |

If you own ONR, forget the 951.....you don’t need it.

Yes. I have the blue stuff coming, No Rinse Wash and Shine.
Not the green, No Rinse Wash and Wax. Still no need for the 951 with just the Wash and Shine? Looking forward to trying this method this weekend. |

Rinseless is rinseless...don’t get hung up with the “with wax” part.....
Reload should go on bare paint, no rinseless..so Dawn wash Reload Rinseless every week or whenever... If I owned no products it would be dawn Carpro Essence polish Reload Carpro ech20 Rinseless to maintain |
