What is Hybrid Mode on ZL1?
Went into "Hybrid" mode. DIC center config changed as well. No performance modes available. Soon thereafter DIC warned "Service Rear Axle".
I did not dismiss. After 25 min of driving all warnings cleared out on own, hybrid mode disappeared, and normal operations continued. Any guesses on what's going on? Has not re-presented. FYI, battery had run down day before it happened but overnight charge and jump it started right up. Caused by possible drained battery? Note, volts show fine. Hybrid DIC came up after jump start. Had car not been backed in- nose out, it would have been most difficult to jump car to get power to unlock doors and open good to get to battery terminals. Anyone knows for sure why this did this, plz advise. Last edited by htron50; 07-10-2017 at 10:31 PM. Reason: Add info |

Pop some D-cells in your gas tank, you're good to car.
ETA: Boost gauge disappeared too. It's almost as if you got the gauge programming from a Hybrid Tahoe or something else that may use the same cluster. hah

I've seen it before on cars with run down batteries, nothing to worry about if it went away.

Your kidding? You of all folks mlee! I bet you can find some scoop. Hell, even the onstar lights were out. Keyfob no use. 1st attempt to jump failed. Only after all night charge did jump work. Very nervous due to fact that if I had to tow it there was no way to get it out of park. Zero. It doesn't go to bed without a tender now. I'm tempted to leave it in neutral while parked in case it would need a tow. Unnerving the ramifications

My Gen5 did this same scenario to me too. Where for no reason it was just stone cold dead one day. Eventually had the dealer replace the battery under warranty, which made sense. Anyway I also leave mine on a battery tender when not in use. Beware though...a couple of years ago a bad thunder storm rolled through. Had a close lightning strike, and it blew up my tender while attached to the car. It blew up the BCM, and anti-lock module and two sensors on my C6 Z06. Cost pretty close to $3k to get it fixed, thankfully with insurance. If I even think there is chance of a storm now...I unplug it.

Sounds like typical low voltage stuff to me. New cars go crazy when voltage drops that low. Probably would have been wiser to do a good slow charge on the battery opposed to jumping it, but it sounds like no harm was done.
